I will never, ever, EVER understand the logic behind these regional maps.
Rutgers-UNC? OK, show it in Jersey and Carolina. Who on the east coast, not living in those 2 states, gives a damn about this game?
They need to have a NATIONAL game, with the local markets showing their respective games.
I barely got to watch USC these past 3 years because I'd have to watch Minnesota-Purdue or some other regional bullshit.
I don't see how this current system is good for ratings.
I really could go off on a huge rant about all the problems with television sports coverage, so I'd better stop myself.
I'm pissed that gary danielson is no longer with ABC. he's witnessed the troy smith development up close and personal. he has always been a huge troy supporter. i want him proving commentary this year, not some bandwagon announcer.
i'm pissed that FOX will be doing the championship game. I want Musberger and Danielson for every big buckeye game. They deserve the honor.
i hate the guy that does the radio play by play. he's awful. he takes a great moment, and makes it seem mundane. his call of the final play against miami is just BRUTAL. i'm still pissed that keith jackson did that game and not musburger.
NBC does it right. They understand that sports is entertainment, and that broadcasting a game is a "production".
cbs and fox are just awful in how they do NFL games. NBC was so much better. same for october baseball.
thankfully we still have the 2002 purdue-illinois-michigan games. if you watch those games on tape, you'll see how a college football broadcast is supposed to be pulled off.
