Couple questions

I'm looking for an AVI codec, does anyone know where I can find one, also I was wondering if anyone knows where i can get a program that is 100% free to covert mp4 (iPod) files to WMV. Thanks

Media players like VLC or VMPlayer will handle just about anything you throw at them.

If you want to stick with your current media player, FFDSHOW will decode the majority of video types you'll run into.

If you stumble across something that is harder to decode, AVICodec will tell you exactly what the file is compressed with and tell you where to download the required codec.

I use Windows Media Player. I tried VLC, I can't convert the files into what I want, plus the quality is garbage.

As for the codecs, you are god. That worked. Files that didn't open, now open
