Zurp

I have misplaced my pants.
I don't know where else I should post this. Maybe I should have PM'd someone with my questions. But maybe someone else was wondering the same thing..

And maybe my answers are common knowledge to everyone else. I must be out of the loop, then.

First, what happened to my medal? And everyone else's medals? Were we robbed?

Second, I had about 500 bpCash, then I go to Bowling Green for work for a couple of days, and return to find over 1,500 bpCash. I had a couple of vbets that might have been settled, but not 1,000 worth. And it seems as if the number increases throughout the day. Am I earning interest? Or am I getting "paid" for posting?

Just curious.

Or am I getting "paid" for posting?

basically... yes. You can now earn vCash for various things like posting and receiveing rep. You can also check "your bets" under the bpBook to see what has been paid out to you.

The medals will be back shortly... we haven't had them since the upgrade but Clarity is working on it along with everything else.

Thanks. The medals (and other badges) aren't important to whether I participate in Buckeye Planet. I just thought they were pretty cool. Thanks to Clarity and anyone/everyone else for keeping this site awesome.

As was stated, the Medals will return shortly. The vCash could be several things. As LoKy stated, you get small payments for posts, responses to posts, referrals, reputation given to you, etc., etc. You can (soon) also lose vCash for warnings and such.

Additionally, at one point everyone at BP started with 1000 vCash. During one of the software upgrades a while back that figure was changed, accidentally, to 500 vCash. With the new upgrade, Clarity went back and added 500 vCash to all those members that were shorted some virtual money. That could also explain the big jump in v$$$$.

Everything's already been covered (well) here, so I'll just add that the participation payments are micro-sized.

Meaning, you might get $0.00001 every time someone views a thread you created. Or $0.0001 every time you create a new post.

Those aren't the real values because they depend on which forum you're in (posting on-topic in football pays far more than posting about bouncy boobs in Romper -- not that boobs don't bring value, but this IS an athletics site).

Even in the football forum though, we're talking hundredths or thousandths of a cent. It *does* add up, but slowly. On purpose.

A very active poster who is getting some positive rep for his posts could probably clear $50 every week or two this way.

I wanted it to be a drip. Bad rep does pull some cash away -- micro amounts again, but significantly higher than what positive rep gives you. 3yards is right, it's going to be bridged to warnings and other areas as well. Warnings will come with significant drops, nothing micro there.

All the medals are still in the system, I just don't have the means to pull them into the postbit yet. Soon though.

I looked, and you were one of the 1800 or so users who got $500 'back pay' for missing bpCash.
