Serenity now
Just a couple things I have noticed now that I've gotten more acquainted with the layout...

1. board time is ~ 12 minutes slower than actual time. Probably a server issue?

2. the down-arrow icon next to certain posts....i guess it's supposed to signify a new post since my last visit to the boards, but it's not going away even after I check the new post, exit the browser, and re-visit. I guess I'm wondering, is there any way for these to automatically disappear after I check a post, or is manually marking the enitre forum as "read" the solution?

Overall I'm liking the layout and all the options it presents.

Server time is off, I'm going to have it updated tomorrow. But I think it's losing a minute here and there. My box is a couple years old (I know WW or Mili is going to have fun with that, but I'm brave enough to let the statement stand as-is), and I think the on-board 'watch' battery may be draining low. At some point I'll have to have that replaced, but in the meantime, I may just have to poke a friend to fix the time twice a month or something to keep it close. Annoying, but the downside to everything being free is that I don't have a 24hr NOC/call center I can hit up for little local jobs like that.

I'll investigate the arrows situation, I'm not sure how it knows what you've read and what you haven't. I'd assume it flags things in the database, but perhaps cookies as well? I can't really speak intelligently about it, but I can say that there's not much we can't fix or change in this environment.

Glad you're liking the features and such so far. I discover new little eidgets every day that keep me entertained. For example, go back to the General/Buckeye forum for football, and click on the "Replies" number next to one of the bigger threads. Pretty slick. But I'm easily amused and impressed.

http://www.iespell.com

I can certainly look into installing one, but they are typically plagued with one of two problems. (1) they're fast and local but have compatibility problems with some browsers (Netscape4 is the big one), (2) they're slow and rely on other sites.

The URL above is a free spellchecked add-on for IE that comes highly recommended when I asked about this issue elsewhere, but if there's demand, I'll definitely find a solution.
