I've got three sisters, all seniors, in that state right now. I recommended they all return home a couple of days ago, after I saw that fever map. I'm sure Florida will be considered a hot spot by sometime next week.

He's a fucking dumbass. At least some of the county leaders are smarter, if not still a little slow on the uptake. Of course, there are very few governors who are winning so far, so he's more of the rule than the exception.

There's no way this state isn't going to be a shit show in a week or two between his inaction and all the dipshits coming here for their Spring Break or to escape the places that are being smart about it.

Well, it can't snuff it out if infected people... I will admit to not paying super close attention the last week, but I did the couple weeks before that, and given Desantis behavior and the amount of traveler exposure in Florida, it may well be the case that the temperature is saving their asses right now. Time will tell...

Combine a state with a disproportionate # of retirees, snow birds, a tourism-driven economy, people treating statewide shutdowns and school closures as governor-ordered vacations, and spring break around the Easter holiday.

As predictable as it was inevitable.
