Contract Up, Looking for a Verizon Phone

DaytonBuck

I've always liked them
Out of the loop on what's out there and what the deals are right now. Any recommendations?

My friend also claims if I see a phone for example like a razr that I like and it's priced at $50 and I say it's too much and I'll just go to Sprint they'll start to play ball. Any truth to this?

Depends on the person you talk to. Some of them want to make the sale others are like fuck it.

In my experience, you can haggle your way out of anything remotely service-oriented: cable, cell phones, etc. If you're a returning customer after your contract expired and you threaten to switch they almost always have systems set in place to give you a more enticing offer to keep you.

My brother and sister-in-law both got EnV's a couple months ago and they love it, despite not being big text messagers.

Verizon doesn't haggle. (or very rarely) They're big enough to not have to haggle or keep up with sprints equipment and plan deals.

Sprint's retention dept is like a collection of used car salesman. Completely unpredictable and heavy on bartering. Of course, there are also hiccups in service and errors on your bill. Long list of bill errors on forums like below.

Spend time on howardforums.com to get indepth info on just about everything for mobile phones.
