Confirmed: Tommy Bowden--Win Thursday or be bought out

That'd be a huge step in the right direction. Dude can recruit like a motherfucker, but my God is he an awful gameday coach. Clemson is one of those programs that's just a good coach away from being a power.

Could it be that Terry Bowden's gig at Rivals will soon be the best job in football held by a Bowden?

Unless you count Jeff Bowden still being paid by FSU for doing nothing after his buy-out. That's a good gig if you can get it.

Bobby had a statue until it was knocked over on a commercial. Not too bad.

Buy Out

In my humble opinion, the worst thing you can do is change coaches in the middle of the year. Why did they not take steps in the off-season if they were unhappy? Give the man a chance to right the ship or move on after the year.
What ever happened to honesty, integrity and loyalty? That should be true for coaches too. :oh::io:

From a source quite knowledgable of Clemson football. If Clemson does not win Thursday night, the rumor is Tommy Bowden will be bought out over the weekend, Rob Spence fired, and Dabo Swinney named interim HC.
Who are they (current jobs) and how are they at recruiting?

In my honest opinion, Rob Spence is one of the best up-and-coming OCs in college football. He turned Toledo's mediocre offense into one of the most yard-generating spread offenses in the country and took over the MAC West for years. He also took Clemson to the next level on offense thanks to Spiller & Davis. I don't believe he has any other ties to Ohio other than being Toledo's OC, but he's a great football mind on offense and definetly worth a look if he suddenly becomes available within the next year, if only for his experience with the spread.

Dunno. Spence has struggled to find ways to utilize Davis and Spiller and has become dependent on a screen scheme that hasn't showcased any of Clemson's athletic WRs or stretched the field. Clemson fans are also aggravated at how easily he abandons the run. Davis had 100+ yards at the half against Maryland, but received very carries in the second half...Clemson folded and lost.
