That is an unbelievably huge list. I think next year's is experienced enough to run itself, but you have to wonder about the development of the team to follow up the departure of Leinart, Bush, White (who are now guaranteed to leave I would guess, whereas before I thought maybe White would stick around). At least one fo the new coaches isn't gonna live up to his billing.
I can't wait to see what kind of impact this has on next year's recruiting class. I'm sure Pete will still do a good job, but when 5 of the coaches take off after a year of success, the players have to feel like the next wave of coaches might be using their school as a platform for a better job as well.
Plus Propaganda Pete is already starting to lose his luster. He got burned by a primadonna in JG, and looks primed to lose Moline to UCLA and Reuland to us. Not that he won't land plenty of good players, but its nice to see that they aren't going to continue their streak of being untouched (I didn't expect them to, I just figured it would take longer than 2006 for the wheels to get out of alignment).

Have to wonder if some of the powerhouse offensive kids that committed to USC knew of this beforehand. Obviously they probably didn't know that Chow was going to leave, although it was speculation at the time. I wonder if it has suprised them as much as it suprised Leinart. Matt should have taken the money and ran, his status can only go down.

I think this is an expectation of most players...hence the saying commit to a school, not a coach. USC would not be able to attract top coaches if they were unable to advance them. Just like OSU and Dantonio, this happens when you have success.BuckeyeFROMscUM said:

When is/was the deadline to declare for the draft? I agree that Leinart runs the risk of a major financial loss if he stays and his production drops. He lost both Chow and his QB coach.

There was nothing going on that I am aware of in either the Titans or USCs world that would have prevented this from happening before LOI day. It would be hard to convince me that trying to get past that date was part of the equation. Still, this is part of the game and there was certainly every reason for kids to think Chow might leave. It would be very interesting to know exactly what they were told if they asked that very question.
As for the future of USC I think they will be able to attract some quality replacements. They may drop a bit but it wont be precipitous. They are absolutely loaded coming back and landed TEN kids who were rated in the top ten at their positions (last year that got 8). Only three kids in their entire class were ranked outside the top 20 at their positions. (By way of comparison OSU landed three kids ranked in the top 10 by position.)

When you're winning your coaches get takent away from you... Miami lost some assistants after they won the NC.... We lost Coach D... LSU lost Sabin, and now USC got gutted... just a fact of life for good programs...
With the talent USC has, I doubt they will fall too far too fast... it is tough to stay at the top, so I'd guess they will lose a game this year, however they might have lost one with Chow...
