Coming Soon (New Movies)

Went and saw Paranormal Activity Saturday night. I figured I'd have nightmares about our offense and would be up and down all night anyway, might as well throw in a scary movie.

Not impressed. Last 15 minutes of the movie are what you are there to see. The rest is fluff. Two moments in the movie made say "Whoa, cool" and that was about it.

Relies way too much on loud noises to get a scare. Brings nothing else to the table.

Lol I thought the fluff was good buildup. I purposefully let myself fall into the traps they were setting up just so I could really enjoy a movie. I'm always the one who shits on a movie...like laughing at romantic/dramatic moments...etc.

Basically I was trying not to be an ass this time.

TRON: LEGACY is a 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world that's unlike anything ever captured on the big screen. Sam Flynn (GARRETT HEDLUND), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (JEFF BRIDGES), looks into his father's disappearance and finds himself pulled into the digital world of Tron where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin's loyal confidant Quorra (OLIVIA WILDE), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey of escape across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.

Avatar looks like a huge bust. The CGI looks extremely underwhelming for a $500 million budget.

You are the first person I've heard say that. Everyone else I've heard talking about Avatar seems completely jazzed about it...including my father who typically ignores every sci-fi offering.

Sounds like your Dad and I have similar taste in sci-fi movies and I'm looking forward to checking it out also.

Is there any chatter about the 3D aspect of Avatar? Outside of 1-3 can't miss movies per year (Star Trek), I prefer watching movies on a clearer screen at home with a pause button and 29 other daily rentals if I want.

Supposed to be outstanding (3-D and the movie).
