Comet McNaught and Lunar eclipse of Venus

I don't know where the comet is now visible worldwide but thought I would give you all a heads up.

It is magnificent tonight, measuring an arc of about 45 degrees as it sets. While we watched it, Venus emerged from behind the moon (as in the Muslim symbol).

I am not sure if you guys can see the comet in the northern hemisphere now, perhaps it is low on the horizon. I am also not sure if the lunar eclipse of Venus was just that instant in this place or not but it is truly a once in a lifetime experience if you can catch it and I didn't want you to miss it if you could see it.

Unfortunately, Comet McNaught is no longer visible in the Northern Hemisphere. Its made for great viewing while it was, though. The second brightest comet since 1935.

Helluva shame. I have seen a lot of comets and they are spectacular in the African bush due to the lack of ground light. The lunar eclipse of Venus was just breathtaking, like watching a diamond emerge from behind the moon. That should be visible if the trail lasts that long to you guys. Sun sets there pretty soon, I think.
