I didn’t know MLS put cameras on the moon to decide offside calls… Also, would be REALLY fucking nice if Garber grew some balls and put an effort into eliminating these turf pitches. That’s 4 injuries in the last two games at Charlotte combined between the two teams. Luckily the Camacho and Ramirez injuries don’t appear to be as serious as Sands’ was last year. But enough is enough. Also, sending Sands on to play on that parking lot in just his second appearance back from his injury seemed very cruel and unusual.

Last but not least, fuck scab referees. You know it’s bad when Garber and MLS brass are going out of their way to dictate the narrative on Apple TV broadcasts/MLS 360.

Refs were infinitely better tonight. You could tell the ref had control of the game. Only gripe I have is Yearwood committed, I believe, 4 fouls (three of which were on Aidan Morris) without even getting so much as a warning for persistent infringement. Crew were definitely missing Cucho, Ramirez, and Matan in attack. Camacho’s absence was noticeable at the back as well. I don’t know what’s going on with Rossi, not sure if he doesn’t feel confident in this formation/tactics or what. Just looks like a shell of himself from his time with LAFC.

I had Yearwood on 6, and nearly all of them were of the "I'm gonna clean up this defender after the ball is away" variety, and its a specific tactic counting on the referee not to bring the play back, and there should have been a warning on the 2nd and yellow after that.

2nd goal in the 54th minute of the first half? What's that now? :lol:

While VAR got the PK right, it was plain fucking awful that had to go to VAR, that was a clear PK from the jump in all the reffing flavors of the month for the last 40 years.

So, personally, no, I don't think it was any better, I just don't think the teams here (Yearwood aside) were trying to get out of control. Nashville had a couple pretty awful calls go against them as well.

Bizarrely, a rare Patrick Schulte mistake aside, and you have a chance at a better result out of an ugly POS match.

Rossi's problem is he doesn't have the slightest idea what JRR is doing when they're in there together, and part of it is - it looks to me anyway like JRR's movements away from the ball aren't particularly instinctive and he finds himself in useless space.

And I guess the easiest way to say it is if I were in this match Benteke would have a more difficult time and if the ref didn't like it I would point out I am only matching the contact.

Gignac is a ridiculously good player, and it’s amazing he’s still playing as well as he is at 38, but my god does he complain a lot. There was one moment last night where he went to challenge Nagbe from behind, failed, then he crumpled over and was begging for a foul on Nagbe… Huh? :lol:

The missed PK was extremely frustrating, but the thing that made it worse is that VAR spent all the time in the world to comb over several plays in the first half, and that missed PK was open and shut immediately.

Lionel Messi's return to the Inter Miami starting lineup was in vain as his team was eliminated from the Concacaf Champions Cup by Monterrey at BBVA Stadium on Wednesday night.

Miami came into the match trailing 2-1 from the first leg of the quarterfinal, and things only got worse in the second as Monterrey bottled up Messi and scored three goals to win the tie 5-2 on aggregate.

Monterrey will face the lone remaining MLS side in the CCC in the next round when it takes on the Columbus Crew, with the first leg scheduled for April 23.
