Columbus Apartment Advice

Hey, I'm hoping to move to Columbus later in August and need some advice about apartments. Anything in Columbus or in the surrounding area (20-30 min out of town is probably acceptable) is fair game.

While SIMV has recommended his apartment complex, I want to keep my options open before surrendering to that living scenario

Figured many of you have stayed in apartments over the years and could shed some light.

I will be married a year from now, so recommendations on a one bedroom apartment with room for two people's stuff would be perfect.

If you move into my complex you better let the rental agent know that I referred you to them or I'll kick your ass! I want that resident referral
Ah the true colors come forth... (great website btw, I love the virtual tours, really separates the ugly or prissy ones from the good ones)

I rented from Triangle before we built our house. No problems with the company, though we did have mice.

Definitely rent from Triangle if you like big mirrors above your fireplace. That's a staple of all their apartments, I think. :)

Can't beat the pools at The Quarry during the summer. Tons of talent on display. This is my third year there and that is the one thing I will miss when I move downtown in the fall.

what do you pay for your place wadc?
My place is a little over a grand a month, but I pay extra to have two bedrooms and two bathrooms and to be on the water too. I know they have some two bedroom places for like $800 which people split or they have some one bedroom/studio places around $500 if I am not mistaken.

I would say it has been worth it...I am excited to move downtown in the Fall, but the Quarry definitely served its purpose during my time there.

Olentangy Commons. The chicks there are frickin' smokin'. Of course, I have no idea what their apartments are like...I just go there for the pool.
jwinslow, if you ge ta place at olentangy commons, let me know where it is so i can come over and beat the ever living piss out of you for being a dumbass. the commons is a total hole.

if you have a sinlge one bedroom place there it is livable, aside from that, just pay rent to live in my basement. it's cheaper, and more sanitary.

a long story short regarding my time there. i got into a fight with corporate management in nebraska and talked to some absolute asslick that probably was undereducated to be a scarecrow in the cornfields out there. sure enough that company sold the rights to the complex to another leasing company because they lost so much money.

my old roomate still has the pictures of our patio door being frozen shut from the inside. quality establishment all the way around.

i had a friend that lived in at the quarry. nice place.

Dude, you must have lived in the older section. When I lived there (granted, that was about 91) it was pretty cool, and yes the pool had the smokin bitches. unfortunately I always worked weekends and couldn't partake in the community functions. (fuck)

the problem is that they did nothing to maintain the apartments since you left.

the maintenance man flat out told us that he told management that we needed all new windows in the entire place. management told him that corproate doesnt approve such large expenses and to just try and rig it as best as possible.

that maintenance guy quit there a few months later, especially when I gave him the picture of our door frozen from the inside and told him to send it to corporate.

corporate tried to tell us that we never made any maintenance requests for such work as they had no records. however, i kept my old phone bills that showed me calling maintenance and management. they basically told us since we didnt escrow our rent we could go to hell.
