It would be nice!! Shoulda seen it when I first moved in--entire house had dark wood paneling in every room with cat-urine soaked purple carpet! Luckily, there were hardwood floors under carpet--I refinished them myself. We had to not only tear out paneling, but also the dry wall in initial rooms we remodeled, but we did not do that in the kitchen--just too much work, so we painted the paneling. Cupboard area and appliances definitley need an upgrade. The cupboards are homemade plywood......

Just ribbing ya but I am sure you have done what you can. My house gets updated bit by bit too.
