The Buckeyes are still the nation's top team

Despite a bye week for the Ohio State Buckeyes, it was still a pretty exciting weekend of college football. Ohio State remained atop the latest Amway Coaches Poll this week, receiving 48 of 64 first place votes.

Baylor also remained in their spot at No. 2 after a bye week, with TCU coming in at No. 3 after handing West Virginia a 30-point loss Thursday night. LSU held tight at No. 4, while Clemson passed Michigan State for the No. 5 spot.

No. 7 Alabama, like most of its top 10 counterparts, was also taking the week off. No. 8 Stanford squeaked by Washington State in Pullman. No. 9 Notre Dame escaped with a victory over Temple, and No. 10 Oklahoma State came out over Texas Tech in a 70-53 shootout in Lubbock.

The 10th through 17th ranked teams remained the same. Houston moved up one spot to No. 18, and Ole Miss two spots to No. 19. Temple moved down just one spot to No. 23 after a close loss against Notre Dame.

Pitt dropped out of the poll after their respective loss to North Carolina. Duke also fell out of the poll, after a heartbreaking and controversial loss at the hands of the Miami Hurricanes. North Carolina came in at No. 21 this week, with Texas A&M and Mississippi State also new to the poll this week at No. 24 and No. 25 respectively.

The complete Coaches Poll will be available here shortly.
