After finally suffering a loss at the hands of Michigan State, the Buckeyes drop in the rankings.
With plenty of sloppy performances on the season, they finally caught up with Ohio State Saturday afternoon, as they lost to Michigan State on senior day in Columbus, 17-14. As a result, the Buckeyes fell to No. 8 in the latest Amway Coaches Poll.
Clemson and Alabama were the usual suspects atop the poll at No. 1 and No. 2 respectively. Iowa moved into the top three in the Coaches Poll for the first time all season. Notre Dame to No. 4 after a narrow win at Boston College, with the help of a Baylor win over Oklahoma State in Stillwater. Oklahoma rounded out the top five.
Behind Ohio State, Florida, Oklahoma State, and North Carolina came in at No. 9, 10, and 11 respectively. Stanford moved up three spots to No. 12, and Navy four spots to No. 15.
Utah dropped to No. 25 after their loss to unranked UCLA at home. Southern California dropped out of the poll after taking a 20-point loss at the hands of Oregon. Wisconsin also dropped out of the poll after losing at home to Northwestern. LSU fell from No. 17 to unranked after their latest loss as well. Newcomers to the poll include UCLA and Temple at No. 23 and No. 24 respectively.
