Clemson baseball announces Erik Bakich as new head coach
The Clemson Tigers have a new leader of their baseball program. The school announced the hiring of Erik Bakich as the school’s 28th coach in the baseball team’s history. Bakich comes over from Michigan, where he spent the last 10 years as the Wolverines’ head coach. Prior to Michigan, Bakich was the head coach at Maryland from 2010-12 and served as an assistant at Vanderbilt for 2003-09.

In 2019, Bakich was the national coach of the year after leading Michigan to the finals of the College World Series, finishing 50-22 that season. He also led the Wolverines to the NCAA Tournament in 2015, ‘17, ‘21 and ‘22.
He also won two Big Ten Tournament titles (2015 and ‘22) at Michigan. Over the course of his career, Bakich has a 398-314 career record with Maryland and Michigan.

For a second year in row, a Mississippi team has won the College World Series (CWS) championship.
Ole Miss defeated Oklahoma 4-2 in the second game of the CWS finals on Sunday.
Ole Miss won the first game of the finals on Saturday 10-3.
Mississippi State won the national championship in 2021.

Following the tsun coach, the domer coach gets to the CWS and immediately leverages it to bolt for a warm weather job. Face it kids, baseball is a dead sport in the Big Ten. At best, you're playing to sneak into a super regional and get your teeth kicked in by warm weather programs.
I'd argue that golf is also a dead sport in the Big Ten except for the obvious fact that golf isn't a sport at all.

Was talking to the coach who was in charge of the Miami Regional that Ole Miss came out of and I did not realize that they were the last team admitted into the tournament.
