I'm talking about the National Championship being in an outdoor stadium where the chances of snow and/or well below freezing temperatures are guaranteed. I know the NCAA would never let it happen. But I'd really like to see how the teams from southern states perform in frigid weather. To me football is for cold weather.
 
The fans from the southern states don't even know football exists in that climate. I was listening to a sports call-in show on Monday in Nashville. A caller (Auburn fan) couldn't understand why the MNC game isn't being played east of the MS river. He said football is designed to be an outdoor sport and there are 3 stadiums east of the MS that hold over 100K. I don't think he was referring to OSU, PSU and TSUN. I don't believe he knows those stadiums exist. He thinks it should be outdoors in January? I agree. Bring them to Columbus. Unfortunately I don't think that's what he was referring to.

Personally, I'd love to see a National Championship game played outdoors in the snow and below freezing weather. The NCAA will never do it, but I wish they'd give it a shot. If the NFL gets to have playoff games in the snow, why can't the NCAA have some bowl games in the snow? I'd love to see how the southern or southwest teams would react to playing in snow and freezing weather.

The southern teams (and their fans) will go wherever the game is scheduled. If you want to move the game to Foxboro or Soldier Field - you have the NCAA to convince, not us.

It would have actually only been in the 50s if I remember correctly, we got a nice bit of weather up in Ohio that week, remember getting off the plane from NO and wondering what the hell was going on.
