Clifford suspended (Washington OK to play) In Championship

Amos, O'Neal, and possibly James Scott see some action. Not what the Bucks would prefer, or expect, but it still sounds damn good to me.

If only Clifford and Washington are involved, then we're still OK.

If it is true then I expect Amos to come in on the nickel, not O'Neal. Chekwa and Amos don't worry me, but they have inexperience so they could turn in games like we saw vs Illinois. Washington is a great and underated corner, I hope it's not true about him missing the game because that would mean one less future NFL cornerback on the field for us in the biggest game of the year.

i wouldnt move jenkins off the corner the entire night.....don't think they csan afford to move him to safety in the nickel now....the nickel back spot will be by rotation now....would like to see what james scott could do before oneal

I decided to just post it on the scout free site because it was bound to get out sooner or later. The sooner it gets out, the sooner those in the know about the situation can end rumors and speculation.

how does this change osu's game plan? i really dont trust oneal in the nickel...and chekwa is still very young...good thing is lsu doesnt go vertical in passing too much...but oneal scares me

I think it might prohibit us from using Jenkins at safety in nickel situations.

Chekwa out there the whole night worries me a little bit. A freshman in a big stage like this is a little worrisome against a talented WR group like LSU's. CC seemed to have some problems against Illinois iirc. They're probably going to be picking on him all night. The defense may have to have safety help for Chekwa much of the night, which can reduce some run stopping ability on our part.

A lot of young, but unproven talent in our defensive backfield. We still have about 2 more weeks of practice for Chekwa, Amos, JamO, Shaun Lane, and maybe Scott to get some confidence and play sound football on 1/7.

if true.......how moronic and sad. Probably about to miss the biggest night of their young lives over something petty most likely. Hope it isn't true.
We can't get into details, but this will ultimately come under the heading of "unspecified violation of team rules".

Now, if the player in question had been Adrian Arrington, for example, then the punishment would probably have been three Hail to the Victors every morning for a week, but this is Ohio State, and we are three weeks away from the BCS title game, so even minor violations will lead to suspensions. It is unfortunate for the kids involved, but they made their own choices....
