Cleveland Indians (2013 Season)

The only saving grace in the Ubald-O debacle is that neither Pomeranz nor Alex White have done very much at the ML level since the trade. However, I've said all along that we may never get an accurate gauge on what Pomeranz could have done here since he was heading to the thin air of Denver. Add to that that the Rockies may have rushed him to the bigs a little before he was ready.

Then, there's this:

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Terry Francona has 80 more games to find his way to Progressive Field. His first trip was an adventure.
Call it an unintentional walk.
Cleveland's new manager said he got lost Monday making the two-block walk from his apartment to the ballpark for the Indians' home opener against the New York Yankees.
Francona is living in downtown Cleveland during the season and he plans to ride a small scooter he used during spring training in Arizona for the short commute to the ballpark. However, he decided to hit the streets on foot early in the morning and ended up needing directions to find his new workplace.

How to you regress even further from "unmitigated disaster"?

Oh, this is how....

Terry Pluto @terrypluto
Ubaldo, 91 pitches, 52 strikes...811 feet worth of HRs allowed. Cano's 401-footer came on an 84 mph "fastball"

*facepalm*

Valid question:

thomyoz - What's next, Ben Francisco is going to hit for the cycle?

insult to injury is santana getting hit on the wrist and was removed from the game...hopefully he avoids a DL stint...i cant imagine Marson as the everyday catcher

During the telecast they were making a big stink about the possibility that Perez ignored the pitch that Santana called and threw what he wanted anyway and crossed him up...in the dugout it looked like Sandy was uber pissed at Perez. Interesting to see if anything comes of that or not.

Oh, and only in Cleveland...the Yan Gomes era is about to begin.
