Cleveland Indians (2011 Season)

Yanks had won 7 straight series going into this one, so we ended that streak. Now a set with Toronto before the break. Let's see if I can end my losing streak Friday night (got tix right behind home plate for my buddy's bachelor party weekend). They've lost 3 straight while I was in attendance and have dropped to 7-5 in person with me there this year.

at this point ryan ludwick seems like the most sense for our need of a right handed bad that plays in the outfield...the question is what all would we have to give up to get him....we have alot of good arms in AA and AAA which is what i would like to see us get rid of....out of any of the position players i would be ok with the tribe parting with would maybe be jason donald or Valbuena since his stock has recently risen because of his play in AAA this year....i would hate to see us get rid of kipnis for a one year rental....other names i have heard are Melky Cabrerra (yes another cabrerra), jeff francoer and Carlos Beltran...Beltran seems the least likely because of his contract situation where he is owed i think 18.5 this year or next...i forget...either way he seems to rich and given his injury history and the similarity of his injury to sizemore i say there is no way we go after beltran...at this point a trade isnt 100% necessary but if we start to slip in the standings then maybe the heat will get turned up on Annonetti to make a move...one thing is certain, we cannot go into a playoff matchup with kearns as our everyday RF because choo's thumb didnt heal properly and he is out for the year

RAGE slams the door. Bullpen tried to make it interesting, but Tribe takes 2/3 for the Jankees, so that always feels good.

It's impressive.. compare the lineups and there are only two players on the Indians that would start for the Yankees. Asdrubal at SS and Hafner at DH. Pitching for the motherfucking win. Although the Yankees did score more runs during the series.

No way they trade Kipnis imo. On a related note, I'm pretty sure I read that he batted .500 last week. Would love to see him in Cleveland.

With the bat, he's pretty much a finished product, his defense still needs work. Just look at Phelps' struggles and you'll see why he's not in Cleveland yet.

Sounds like he'll fit in just fine then. Seems like every game I've watched lately has had some mind-numbing defensive plays.

I really don't get the enamoration with Ludwick, but I guess he makes the most sense. They better freaking not trade Kipinis. At all. If they trade Valbuena, whoopty-fuck. Even if Ludwick is a bust, we broke even. But Kearns is shit, to the point that a blind wartfrog would be better in right.

I don't think there's any "enamoration" (I like it) - its just a question of who is or might be available. As far as I can tell yoyoyoyoyoyin has pretty much the whole list of obvious candidates. (the problem with trading with teams that suck, is they have sucky players) So, Ludwick has been kicked around. Cabrera and Francouer aren't needed long term by the Royals and the Mets don't want to get nothing for Beltran (and probably Jason Bay too) but those guys make a PILE of coin.

Who can you part with? Valbuena, sure... Crowe, probably... LaPorta? Dunno, depends how much 1st you want Smooth to play down the road.

I suppose you could just get weird and offer the Orioles a bag of chips and a couple fungos for Vlad Guerrero and Derrek Lee. (That presumes Vlad can actually still play in the OF, I don't know that answer)

Kipnis, Chis, Phelps... aren't getting moved.

Now, some lower level guys for a player with more than the rest of the year on his deal? Maybe. Will the Dodgers need to move some guys? And I'm not talking about Casey Blake... crap... you could probably get Casey Blake uber cheap.

I'm sure some more names will come up....

Yeah, no, I think yoyo has the right list...there just isn't much out there. The Dolans will never take a contract like Bay's even though he might play better in a park that is not designed specifically to stop him like the Mets' is. Guerrero is a horrible idea, he can't field and we already have a DH that can't field, Derek Lee is so far over the hill the sun is blocked out, and Casey Blake...is Casey Blake. Who else is out there on shitfuck teams...Carlos Lee? I dunno, there ain't much. As for parting with LaPorta, I'm all for it, but Shapiro will never allow it, because it will signify he is admitting how stupid he is.

Yeah, I was pretty much kidding about Guererro/Blake/Derek Lee... more illustrating how after the first short list, it goes down the crapper in a hurry.

(looking back I thought Bay was a 1.5 year thing, misremembered that, my mistake)
