Sober, Modell needed more than a new stadium. He was a lousy investor and needed an influx of megabucks to bail him out of financial quicksand. Attendance and TV ratings for the "old" Browns were near the top of the NFL.....
So what about the 11-5 season they had the year before they decided to move?
Were they not competitive that year?
Did the 11 wins come from forfeits?

Not to be overly argumentative, Sober....but one could say that Modell was the primary architect of the Browns for almost 40 years. I wonder what Bernie K. would say about the whole thing.
