Cleveland Browns (Finally drafting Buckeyes)

2nd youngest team in the NFL, with a rookie head coach and some discipline/attitude issues. There are growing pains and I hope nobody here bought fully into the hype train.

Better offensive production from last week with a smarter game plan. Only issue was, after Seattle made their adjustments, we didn't have our counters quite ready on time. Couple that with a couple ill advised throws and, count em', 2 tipped passes for picks. That's what you get.

Oh, and the NFL has to do something about their officiating. Make it a full time, year 'round position where these guys can hone their craft. Because some of what I saw today was straight fucking bush league.

Baker Mayfield "leads" the NFL with 12 turnovers. I know a couple of them were off of drops by receivers, but still you don't win in the NFL when your QB is turning the ball over twice a game, let alone when you turn the ball over and have a mediocre defense.

If all the players, coaches, and owners complain about the quality of the officiating, why don't they just share a bit of the revenue to hire year-round refs, like mentioned above? I mean, these are billionaires making millions every year. Hell, doesn't Goodell make $32 million? I can't imagine it would cost much more to have year-round refs. Doesn't guarantee a perfect product, but can it really get worse?

Hate to say it, but he has been the leader at times the offense has needed a couple times while Baker was busy pouting.

He strikes me as "win now", though... and that's not looking like it will happen in Cleveland.
Just feels like the other shoe is going to drop at some point.
They need an OLine... not sure about Baker. He's an arrogant ass, but he's been a grinder most of his career... maybe Cowherd was right and it all went to his head this Summer. Needs to sit down with himself and decide what his Pro future is going to look like, because he has 1 more season like this to pick up the pieces.
Coaching staff is a mess too.
Tank the rest of the year for all I care... you get nothing in NFL for going 7-9.

Until this team improves the offensive line, they ain’t going anywhere

Had one of the best interiors in the NFL and ruined that in the span of one off-season for some shiny toys. Don't get me wrong, it's important to have NFL quality skill players. But not at the cost of my Oline.

This same thing sans Baker is unfolding in Kansas City on offense. Great skill players with Mahomes but with a trash Oline. They might get bounced 1st round.

If they can make it through one more game without any blow ups they can still save the season. The only way it makes a difference is if they can figure out an offense that gets the ball out of Baker's hands fast enough that the line can hold up against good teams. They need to improve the OT play, but I think it's more important to fix the offensive scheme. I know there isn't much of a Brady/Baker comparison, but the Pats seem to be able to piece together an adequate OL every season and it feels like they have guys walking for more money all the time. Just checked and they have the 4th cheapest OL this year. Have to draft smart and scheme well.

It sucks losing, but they've played 2 good NFC teams down to the last minutes. They were in the 2 other losses until they had a catastrophic mistake that derailed the game and lead to a blow out. I wouldn't be shocked to see them play the Pats better than most would think and then be favored for the last 9 games of the season.

Pats have the best Oline coach in the biz, (arguably) the best HC in history and an efficient yet incredibly consistent QB who has played within the confines of his offense for nearly 2 decades. Toss in having decent skill players, a commitment to running that sets up play action and you get their team. They're a shapeless monster that is hard to wrangle in because of their ability to be so flexible on offense. We simply lack the QB and coaches at this time...

... mostly the QB.
