Cleveland Browns (Finally drafting Buckeyes)

So because some teams aren't run by totally incomptent morons like the Browns are, not pursuing Lamar Jackson is somehow collusion.

Not to say there isn't collusion, but using the Browns and the idiotic Watson trade and contract probably isn't the best evidence.

This would be a pretty big pickup for the Browns fans who are also Buckeye fans.

“I’m pretty sure that’s a lot of Ohio kids’ dream come true,” Jones told cleveland.com by phone on Saturday.

With teams allowed to pre-negotiate with free agents beginning Monday at noon, Jones will know over the next couple of days if he’s coming home. He’s one of several defensive linemen on the Browns’ radar, and a source told cleveland.com that they’re expected to be “squarely in the mix” to land him.

“It’s really exciting,” Jones said. “It’s an honor to have your hometown team be interested in you. So that alone, I appreciate it.”

Also.. the Browns attended OBJ's workout. They were one of 13 teams.

Or the part of the Browns giving Watson that huge guarantee was to get Jackson out of Baltimore since they knew the Ravens wouldn't want to guarantee Jackson more than a couple years. Nevermind, never expect chess from the Browns. If the Watson deal ends up getting Jackson out of the AFC North it would be more of a blind squirl finding a nut. Are they allowed to poison pill NFL contracts by offering a 20M bonus for playing 4 games in the state of VA or something?

I figured the Brownies would have taken a good run at Greg Gaines for the best cost/performance, but I can't complain about them bringing in Tomlinson. Their first, and likely biggest signing of the entire off-season, was along the defensive interior. Like I said, I'm not going to lament this team parting way with Woods, but he wasn't the 1st, 2nd or 3rd issue(s) with this defense.

Now Schwartz has some talent to work with up front.

Cleveland Browns release EDGE Jadeveon Clowney

Cleveland Browns sign defensive lineman Dalvin Tomlinson

The Cleveland Browns announced Wednesday they signed free agent defensive lineman Dalvin Tomlinson. Ian Rapoport reports that the deal covers four years and is worth $57 million total with $27.5 million guaranteed. Tomlinson, a former second-round pick out of Alabama, spent the last two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings.

"I'm so grateful for the opportunity to come to Cleveland and have a chance to compete for a championship for one of the greatest fan bases in the NFL, the Dawg Pound," Tomlinson said in a statement. "I can't wait to get to The Land, put on my orange and brown and start working alongside my new teammates and coaches. You're going to get everything I have, Cleveland. Let's go be great."

Browns DT Perrion Winfrey arrested: Ex-Oklahoma standout booked on misdemeanor assault charge, per reports

Cleveland Browns defensive tackle and former Oklahoma Sooners standout Perrion Winfrey was arrested on a misdemeanor assault charge Monday in Harris County, Texas, according to reports. Winfrey, who went to the Cleveland Browns in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft after playing under former Sooners coach Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma, saw action in 13 games as a rookie with the Browns last season en route to recording 22 combined tackles and two pass breakups.

Winfrey, according to county records obtained by NFL.com, allegedly caused "bodily injury" to a woman whom he was dating, grabbing the woman's hand during the incident. No additional details have been made clear at this time.

Two or three seasons? Are they building it by hand?

Not crazy. They would have to demolish the current stadium and build a new one. I remember watching the progress on the LV dome over the course of a couple years when I had a conference in Vegas. The first year it was a frame and the second year it looked mostly complete from the outside, but still didn't open until the next season IIRC. It's also a lot harder to build in Cleveland for 4-5 months a year than Vegas.

If they go through with this it will be interesting to see where they play or if they move around to different Ohio colleges. With the Haslams owning the Crew it seems like they would have the infrastructure to practice in Cbus and play at the Shoe if they could work it out with TOSU. Sounds like they want to rebuild everything in Berea as well.
