No doubt in hindsight Baker is the 3rd-best QB from that draft. Definitely Josh Allen should have been the pick, and overall Lamar has outperformed Baker. Obviously "Mr Dorsey" wasn't nearly as great as he thought he was. But you can't go back and change the past, just got to make the best of whatever chances you get moving forward. How about the guy taken 6 picks (i.e. #7 by Buffalo) after Mayfield?
Josh Allen: 6' 5", 237 lbs., 25 years old.
The Ravens (who got Lamar Jackson) may dispute it; but so far I think Josh Allen was the best QB in the 2018 draft.
OBJ being cut would open up time for Schwartz, who may be able to provide more of a vertical threat. He's getting released if they can agree to the financial terms of his separation. The Saints could sure use him and he's originally from Baton Rouge.
Peoples-Jones seems to work better with Mayfield anyway.
His running ability has been a TOTAL surprise.Josh Allen is 100% the best QB from that draft and is now top-5 in the league. However, at the time he was seen as very much a boom or bust pick. His draft hype was based almost solely on his measurables. He had a nice, not great, career at Wyoming. Nobody had him pegged as being this good. Hindsight, he should’ve been the pick, but nobody can fault the clowns for not taking him.
He ran quite a bit at Wyoming, but he’s been much more effective in the NFL. He should go over 600 yards again no problem. His running ability has been a TOTAL surprise.
He was also total dogshit for his first two years in the league. Guy deserves major credit for working hard to make a massive leap in year 3 and continuing on that trajectory.Josh Allen is 100% the best QB from that draft and is now top-5 in the league. If I'm going to force a ball to a WR I'd prefer to force it to someone who will catch it and not drop it
According to stats, OBJ has only dropped 3 passes in 2020 & 2021 combined.
Eye test says that is incorrect or those 3 drops cost the Browns games.
I’m here if you have video. I have no dog (Dawg?) in the fight other than being tired of the “diva WR causing problem for us, not the QB” narrative that’s rarely accurate. I can definitely be wrong on the drops though.
