Not at all. This decision wasn't decided in the span of a few days based on one good win.

No, it was decided upon in the span of a few weeks based on a few good wins. Technicality, really.

1. He has limited experience. None as a head coach.

2. The players openly petitioned for him to win the job. I'm betting that weighed into the decision. That definitely affected the WV decision as well.

3. He isn't an obvious improvement over the previous coach. Can he recruit? Bowden could do that at least.

Their class has disappeared. Will he be able to salvage it?

I think this decision has all of the signs of an emotional one based on the win over their main rival.

Bowden was not involved at all in the daily recruiting processes...he did in-homes. Swinney has spearheaded Clemson recruiting for a while now. He passed the Recruiting Coordinator title to Billy Napier (another rising star) when he was named Asst. HC.

Not the news I wanted to hear to assuage any concerns over Green.

I guess you don't want me to tell you that their top OL recruit JK Jay just stated in a Rivals$ interview that he is actively recruiting Justin to Clemson?

That is a good sign for Clemson then. He will need to work some magic to regain their lost recruits. I'm sure that win over South Carolina helps.

Rivals$

Swinney is set to sign the contract he designed...

Approximately 800k/year...but heavy on incentives that could pay him over 2million/year. The saved money was invested in raises and multi-year contracts for his assistants and the addition of support staff such as HS relations. Finally, there is a zero buyout cost...if he leaves, he owes nothing. If Clemson fires him, he gets one year's base salary.

He says he wants to earn the big money.

Refreshing approach.
