rocketman

flying low
I'm in rec leagues in flag football and ultimate frisbee over the summer and need recommendations. I personally think a football cleat with a high top would fit the bill for both sports (lots of cutting and sprinting in ultimate) but my ultimate friends say football cleats are too heavy and prefer soccer cleats. I've found soccer cleats don't give my ankles enough support, and even while wearing prescription orthotics my ankles get real sore after games. I know that some pain is par for the course with flat feet but the past few years its gotten to a point where I can barely play after 5 or 6 games. Any recommendations from the coaches and athletic trainers out there?

Also, my daughter loves her Mizuno cleats.

I hear UA makes the worst cleats. I was talking to an equipment guy and he seemed to think that New Balance makes good cleats. If you need ankle support I would go with high top football cleats. They might be heavier, but better to be a little slower than have a sprained ankle.
