Anyone out there into this mobile game? I have gotten pretty addicted to it myself. I have recently started a new clan called Buckeye Grove and I would love to find more Buckeye fans to join me in my clan. Check it out!
 
I'm playing but am at a point where I can't seem to save enough elixir to upgrade my items anymore. I need 2.25 million but as soon as I get to 2m I get beat and lose 200k every time.

Supercell also makes a game called Boom Beach which is a very similar premise but a little more control of your attacks (@WolverineMike ). I'm having more fun with it right now.

I find that constantly attacking is the solution to limited resources. Make sure the people you attack have enough elixir to cover the troops you spend and attack as much as possible. I am also very selective about who I attack and will skip many times before I find one I like.

Most of the time it is best to attack even if you currently have a shield- as long as you have the free time to attack every time you have a full complement of units to attack with- usually about every 20-30 minutes depending on what your unit composition is.

Another good trick is to purposely lose attacks so that your trophies go down and the quality of opponents that attack you decreases. The absolute best is if you can find someone with full collectors outside their walls. You can get a lot of resources for minimal unit investment and still "lose" and drop trophies.

Yep and not only this, but you can use your gems to boost production if you're close to an amount you need.

If you don't want to spend money on gems, I would highly suggest saving every gem you can get to put toward additional builders.

I go after loot using an army composed of about 1/3 barbarians and 2/3 archers. It doesn't take long to replenish this troop combo, and when I'm low, I search after unprotected town halls to keep ky trophies up.

If you have enough troops, you can often get a 50% victory against Town Hall 7 bases or lower by destroying everything around the periphery of the base.

Since I started this thread a while back, Buckeye Grove has really taken off with at least half our members coming from another Buckeye forum where I responded to a poster who was looking for a new clan. We are 7-0 in clan wars, with many of our wars being about as competitive as our game against Florida A&M last year!

Unfortunately, Buckeye Grove is nearly full now and we require 1000 trophies to join, however we have started a second clan named Script Ohio to serve as a feeder clan or farming clan for members who either don't want to participate in a clan war, or who will not have time to participate in a clan war. That clan is set to only require 200 trophies and we'd love to have new members from Buckeye Planet. It says invite only, but you can send a request to join. Mention you are from Buckeye Planet and I'll make sure you are let in. Those that are there are ready and willing to donate troops and would love new clan members to help along!

I may check out Script Ohio as I don't necessarily have a lot of time to dedicate.
