Bingo

"Hearsay" or one man's opinion can be true, but a citation lends to the credibility of the opinion (though does not "prove" anything, necessarily)
Or the link may not have any affect on credibility, or the source could actually decrease credibility. The value of the link comes in being able to make that assessment for yourself.

EDIT for jo:

Actually he said he was considering those 5 different schools, while he's still on record much more recently saying he would have gone to OSU if he had gone to school--but at least you backed up your own statement with a link.
:roll1:

so because there was a link you believe that those were the 5 different schools he was considering....and that's it.

exhibit b why links aren't always the greatest.

LeBron talking about where he would have gone to college (had he been recruited fully for college or even been actively interested in the same) is a kinder and gentler analogue of OJ telling us in book form how we would have offed his wife.

they added support to the argument that he wasn't going to college....not that he would have or wouldn't have gone to Ohio State.

:smash:

The entire point is support whether to prove or refute a point...the Lebron James issue is 100% irrelevant to the debate between you and I.

If you think links are worthless in terms of proving/refuting a point in a discussion, I'm really not sure what else to tell you besides good luck in your endeavours. I'll stick to links.
