At present, the Reds are 8-7, tied for second with Houston, one win behind the Cards.

How in the hell are the Reds doing this?

Looking at the upcoming series against the Marlins, I started thinking about the teams the Reds have faced, and it is borderline unfair ...

The opposing pitchers in their games have included: Pedro, Glavine, Clemens, Oswalt (twice), Pettitte (twice), Mulder, Marquis, Wood, and Prior.

In the upcoming series against the Marlins they'll face AJ Burnett and Dontrelle Willis, who combined in six starts are (5-1) with 3 complete game shutouts.

So, in 13 of the Reds' 17 games, they will have faced (IMO, at least) three Hall of Famers, at least 5 pitchers who won 15 games last season, 8 pitchers who have won as many as 18 games in one of the previous 3 seasons, 10 pitchers who have pitched in a Division Series in one of the previous 3 seasons, 6 who have pitched in one of the previous 3 World Series, and a group in which half the pitchers have won 20 games and a World Series ring at some point in their careers.

I won't even bother counting their Cy Youngs ...

Yeah and but in two of the other four games they faced the pirates and two guys that always give them trouble. Especially Perez. He always kills the reds. He usually get about 15 k's and shuts us out. Not this tiem tho.

I am with you I don't know how they are doing it. The suprising thing is that they are beating the lefties and not the righties.
