Team BA .230. Team ERA 4.83. How are they even close to a .500 team?Take a picture of the record at .500 on this date.
They won't be seeing it again this year.
Worst bullpen in the majors torpedoing any night when the mediocre offense actually scores a few runs or the mediocre starters keep them in the game for the first 5 inning or so.
The rest of 2026 =

Back in the day when I followed baseball more closely I used to follow stats. You almost never saw teams with BAs below .250 nor team ERAs over 4. I did some looking today. ERAs are WAY uo compared to say 30 years ago so you'd think BAs would be through the roof but their not. The best hitting teams have a team BA of around .260 with most teams being below .250. I can't believe either the amount of players that are regulars batting around the Mendoza line. Home runs and strikeouts are way up and stolen bases way down. Stealing bases has become a lost art. It's kind of depressing how far the game has fallen despite today's player being more athletically gifted that ever.Random variance.
April was some skinny tail, extreme outlier nonsense.
Rent is due now.

Yesterday on Youtube I watch game 7 of the 65 world series, Dodgers vs Twins, Koufax vs Jim Kaat. It made me feel nostalgic. It hasn't fallen, it's just changed.

Here's a classic Red line up. Names Like Eric Davis, Dave Parker, Buddy Bell, Barry Larkin, Bill Gullickson
1st inning, Dave Parker batting and Harry Carey refers to him as "this big gorilla"![]()

misplayed 3 bunts in a row last night. im not even mad. thats amazing
3 straight misplayed bunts and the 7 straight walks are two little league level happenings in the same season....and it's just now June.
If we had an owner that cared, they might take that as a sign that said owner employs unserious people.
I remember a game in Babe Ruth league where we scored like 15 runs on two or three hits because the opposing team's pitcher couldn't get the ball over the plate. I remember swinging at a ball almost over my head because I didn't want to walk and then stand on a base and then another base as he continued to walk people.3 straight misplayed bunts and the 7 straight walks are two little league level happenings in the same season....and it's just now June.
