Gee,

$30MM a year for 5 years to a 32 year old DH

It's dumb spending first and foremost but also another example of how out of whack the spending limits are for teams. It's an extra year and 50MM more than the Pirates offered him. It's a number the Reds just can't possibly match.

He's the exact kind of player the Reds need and they were never for one minute going to be able to afford him.

They are going to have to do a hard core lock out in '27. This shit has to get fixed.

Once some guy has $5M in the bank, I would like to know why the obsession continues to pour on $tens of millions. Maybe the Reds offered half the money. Aww, poor Kyle, only making $15M a year to play a fucking game, and will start declining in his abilities well before the expiration of the contract. What the fuck are these guys doing with all that money. I know: boats, mansions, cars. No one needs 20 fucking cars. Ofc, the owners should share some with the guys who are generating their wealth, but that only goes to a handful of guys... :sick1:

He'll be 33 right in the middle of the WBC in March.

His career more or less is the same as Adam Dunn (a few more homers maybe), but at least Dunn sorta played some defense.

Could you imagine paying Adam Dunn $30 million at season to hit .230 and strike out 200+ times?!

Marty's head just exploded

all joking aside, you aren't paying him 30MM a year to hit .230, you are paying him $30MM a year for having the 6th best wRC+ in baseball last year.
