It’s the concept of BaBip. Batting average on balls in play.
There is an element of luck once a ball goes fair (flares fall in, weak grounders you can’t get to etc etc)
Pitchers eliminate that element of luck with a K. Hitters know that it exists so they should try to make contact but the amount of that luck is so small, you can’t make a living on it. This the idea that you are going to make outs and some of them will be K’s, as long as you do enough damage when you don’t make an out the type of out doesn’t really matter.
The Reds fucking problem (among many) is that they don’t t have enough power to compensate for all the swing and miss in their lineup.
Striking out near 30% of the time and only having warning track power when you don’t miss is a bad combination.
Take every one of these needle dick motherfuckers but Elly out back of the stadium and shoot them for all I care. They are worthless as ball players.

Nice win over Indianapolis today. Reds needed everything they had and pulled it out in the end. Hey Elly, stop fucking swinging at everything with 2 strikes, ffs. He needs a sign from the 3rd base coach to not swing. Or think a little bit and have an eye. Grow some patience. Maybe hold up a sign that says, "This next pitch will be 2 feet outside, so lay off!" They don't seem to do that anymore, though - give signs from 3rd base, I mean.
