Cincinnati Reds (2025 is our year! Haha thats actually funny)

Bums.

Fire sale!

Guys who will be FA next year (all should be traded):
Nick Martinez
Taylor Rogers
Emilio Pagan
Austin Hays (technically a mutual option but those are never used, he's a FA)

All should have some value and we have plenty of pitching depth to eat innings in the back half of another lost year.

2027 FA's (decision time):
Singer
Stephenson
Fraley
Lux
Espinal

A bunch of "meh" right there. Espinal has the most value if used properly imo. Singer is a very reliable innings eater. Personally, I'm so sick of watching Stephenson, Fraley and Lux (among many others) I could puke.

2028 FA's (maybe do something with this group to shake things up?):
Lodolo
Moll
Gibaut
Conner Joe

Last two are worthless as a cock flavored lollipop but the first two are good players.

Big picture nothing will change much, imo. All this franchise can do is stick with it's build-through-draft-and-develop model. Lots of ups and downs to that. The pitching is strong and deep but the next wave of potential help on offense is down at AA.

It's going to take a FA or two and a trade or two to fix this current mess but we all know they won't do that.

Hahaha pulled that one out of their ass!

Sent CES to Louisville. Marte needs to play every day
I was surprised to see him in Columbus tonight, but it obviously needed to happen. He got a hit with an RBI.

It was the first Bats game I have ever witnessed. They were down 3-1 in the 9th. Vilade lead off the inning with a dinger. Another guy gets a walk and moves to second. Blake "won't get it" Dunn comes to the plate with 2 outs (oh, boy it's over). He hit a chopper to 3rd and barely beat the throw to 1st (yay), but oh shit what in the world is that future Red doing standing halfway between 3rd and home?? Getting in a pickle to end the game, that's what. Moral of the story - I can't even go see the Reds' AAA team without seeing them lose in typical stupid traditional Reds fashion. One of the most boneheaded things I've ever seen.

I now see what they see in Vilade - that dude can hit. He's the one Bat who stood out tonight. Rece Hinds had a double, but got picked off 2nd. He was at the plate in the 6th or 7th with bases loaded, 2 outs, full count, swung and missed at a pitch that was at least a foot outside. I'm pulling for him, but c'mon it's time to start producing.

The Clippers' DH was hitting .169 to start the game, lol. Guardians don't have much coming down the pike.

I thought maybe his foot was bothering him as bad as he looked at the plate last night. Like that was his first baseball game ever. But he got 2 hits tonight, so...
He would do that with the Orioles. Some days he looks like a major leaguer, and then you get nights like the other day with every possible soul-crushing at bat possible.

Hays made his MLB debut as a 21 year old and has stuck for 8 years. He has a career wRC+ of 106 so, the reaction to his performance the other night aside, he's a legit above average MLB hitter.

The issue is he has only surpassed 550 PA's twice in his 8 year career.

Like he was born to be a Red.

Related note, they moved Sal Stewart up to AAA. If he keeps hitting up there he's the next development guy in line to possibly help at 1B or DH. Technically he plays 3B but I have never seen a scouting report on him say that he will stick there.

Draft is at 5. Let's see what promising young career get's ended before it could start.
