I said it a couple weeks ago - I don't think Elly's future is at shortstop. I think he's either a centerfielder or right fielder in the future. I don't see the Reds tying up hundreds of millions in a corner outfielder though, so that means Center.
Maybe I'm naive but I think they are going to sign him to a Jackson Merrill or Bobby Witt Jr type deal. I still think he's a SS long term too. A big chunk of his errors are throwing errors and routine plays---I don't see why he couldn't clean that up. He's still so young---he's younger than Baldwin on the Braves who might win ROY.I don't see them being able to extend him myself.
I'd give him some more time at SS, he needs to develop some consistency but it's such a premium position I think you deal with the frustrations another year or so.
There are so many holes to fill on this fucked ass team, he can still only play one position.

Lodolo at Home is gong to be sketchy but another lefty keeps Wallner out of the Twins lineup for the most part which is good. He and Buxton have been potent this year. Have to keep putting more than 5 runs on the board and they'll be fine I think. It will be mind blowing if they win tomorrow to go 4 over .500 for the first time this season, and possibly leap back into 2nd place.
Burns goes 7 with 1 run allowed on 4 hits, no walks, and 7 Ks in his second AAA start.
