I learned today that Johnny Bench was from Binger, Oklahoma. And that led to a fair amount of Oklahomans being either fans of the Reds or having a passing interest.
One such individual was in a meeting with me today. He is an avid Mets fan, but pays attention to the Reds.
We were chatting a little bit about the season, and it was like I was sitting next to @Jaxbuck when my colleague said, "Yeah, they're getting close to that time when they determine whether they're going to trade all their young prospects for other young prospects...".
I asked him why that would be the case, and he said, "Because the organization is too cheap.".
So, I see that the Reds are just a farm team for the other MLB squads.
I offer my condolences to you guys that genuinely care.
