McClain doesn't suck. He's just not back yet. I don't know what it takes to get him back, but that guy has all kinds of talent.

This team is going to hover around .500 until/if/when we get that corner production.
As Pete's Dad pointed out, Hays doing a babe Ruth impersonation sure as hell doesn't suck but it comes back to CES, Marte and Steer. Those guys have to take the big step forward to some degree or another. They just can't all be a total zero.
Pitching is strong and deep, up the middle of Stephenson, Elly, McClain and Friedl are as good an offensive/defensive up the middle core as anyone.
It's the corners and health.
Lodolo with one of the best pitching performances at Coors Field I've ever seen. Holy shit he's nasty!

This is why its hard to be a Reds fan. They come out today and look fantastic running, pitching, hitting.. like they could beat anyone. Then tomorrow they'll be out here like a bunch of monkeys fucking a football.

The football fucking is baseline.
Every now and again (like against the worst team in the league) they’ll look competent.
It’s easier to deal with when you have the right expectations
