Look, I know the "does clutch exist" argument will always rage because both sides are trying to prove the un-provable but this team lacks "it", "grit", veteran leadership" "scrappiness" whatever you want to call it. They've got got marbles.

Seriously. I like the overall picture of where the team is headed. I like having a manager like Tito. I love the starting pitching. That said, you have to go get your Alpha if you haven't been able to develop one (and it is crystal clear, you haven't). A guy like Bryce Harper. Someone who seems to elevate their game when the spotlight gets bigger, not the ghost of Gizmo we have seeped into the walls of the clubhouse at GABP.

It just drives me insane that every hitter has the same approach in every situation now. We don't need you to focus on your launch angle so you can hit a 440 homer in that situation. All we need is for you to hit the god damn baseball.

If these guys tried to hit in on the ground they'd hit into a triple play.

The franchise DNA is what's fucked.
