So of course they bust it open but I'll take it! 11 runs and Elly hits it to the top of the batters eye. Wow

Here are all 4 calls: Reds TV, Reds Radio, Pirates TV, Pirates Radio. I like both of the Pirates' calls the most.So of course they bust it open but I'll take it! 11 runs and Elly hits it to the top of the batters eye. Wow
I didn't watch the game, but I'm guessing that Elly knew he was a triple shy of the cycle and was going for it no matter what. Your observations are sadly correct, though. Elly showed much better patience in ball selection to begin the season, as he said it was something he specifically focused on in the off-season. Here are his splits for base-on-balls this season: April 16, May 11, June 9. Batting avg: April .280, May .208, June .262 (this has really shot up his past few games). Better ball selection will get him on base more often, and we all know what that means for the Reds. A walk for Elly is equal to a runner in scoring position in most cases.I don't think the pirates 8th inning pitcher threw a single strike. Yet all we got was 3 outs and a walk. (Hahahah, I just tuned into this game in the bottom of the 8th, so I wanted to see some offense.)
Elly, use your head - he hasn't thrown a strike the entire inning! HE HASN'T THROW A STRIKE THE ENTIRE INNING ELLY!! Don't fucking swing at crap a foot off the plate. That pitcher had no intention of even trying to throw him a strike. Just throw it anywhere and he will swing at it.

Is there anyone better, though? Capel, Hurtibise, Dunn? All bums, too. They just suuuuck.Explain this....
Stuart Fairchild: 0 for 4, 5 for 54 (.092) vs RHP this year and yet he continues to play...why
Jake Fraley: H, 16 games w/o RBI, 49 games w/o HR. NO POWER
Benson: 0 for 4, 3 K, 0 for last 25. Batting .188 in 249 plate appearances. For the love of all that is holy, would somebody wake up and mercy demote the guy?
David Bell WTF
