Cincinnati Bengals (Same Ole Bengals)

Bengals were gashing them on the ground up the middle all game. Then decided 3 straight passes were a great idea on that second to last drive. Three incompletions, punt, bad special teams coverage, the D lays down, easy TD Jets.

I think I saw Logan Wilson lined up at nose tackle on that 3rd to last Jets TD run where the RB just waltzed right in over tackle. WTF.

Flacco seemed to forget about Higgins. He will catch the 50/50 balls most of the time.

I think I'm a Broncos fan again. I use to be, as a kid, because "I liked the horsey", idolizing Steve Atwater as a young DB, and watching them win 2 SBs in high school while the home team bungled around. But then Tebow showed up, the Bengals got ok, and I could root on the home team with the rest of my city. But now, years removed from Cincinnati thanks to the Army, and finally settled down in Colorado because that's where my career has let me settle in, I can return to the old favorite, which is now my new home team.

I really wanted to cheer on the Bengals to a Superbowl, but it's become very apparent that it's just not going to happen any time soon. All the bazillions of dollars wasted to save Tee and Chase and Burrow, all the while the defense and OL haven't stopped shit in years. This team is all flash, with none of the actual bang required to win. Defense wins championships, it's been proven over and over again, and the Bengals have shown that they just refuse to address that side of the ball, and win the trench warfare that's required.

That’s historically all time level bad. But did anyone truly think not signing a single NFL caliber FA and bringing everyone back from another historically bad defense was going to be better??
This is Mike/Katie Brown and Dick…errr….Duke Tobin at their finest.
I can’t even be mad at Taylor. His offense put up 38 points…and lost.
Look up how many times that’s happened in NFL history. I bet it hasn’t happened much.

The defense is markedly worse this year. They were 25th overall last year, 16th in rush defense. Al Golden's man-to-man is not working.
Fields is a different QB when pressured. We saw that in today's game. The D would have executed much better with Hendrickson in the game and healthy, imo.

Could they have afforded $?M to $15M added to the payroll to strengthen the D through free agency after paying for that offense?

I think the biggest factor is that Golden has turned out to be a terrible addition to the staff.
