    LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Audioslave singer Chris Cornell has quit the short-lived "supergroup," citing "irresolvable personality conflicts as well as musical differences," he said on Thursday.
    Cornell, 42, who rose to fame with defunct Seattle rock group Soundgarden, will reignite his solo career with the May 1 release of "Carry On," his second solo album. Continued...

    when i read that chris cornell and jeff buckley were really good friends, my respect for chris grew tenfold. i thought "euphoria morning" was meh; however, knowing that it was a tribute to jeff, i regard it as excellent.

    Agree completly. Soundgarden was awesome, and TOtD was incredible as well. Cornell's voice is so distinct and one of the best out there. I liked quite a bit of the Audioslave product, but it will be interesting to hear what his next solo cuts sound like.

    Billboard reported on January 19, 2007 that there were rumors that Rage Against the Machine could reunite at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. It was reported in the article that de la Rocha is on good terms with all the members of the band.[2]. These rumors were confirmed in a Los Angeles Times article on January 22[3] and later on the band's official website.[4] The band is billed to headline the final day of Coachella 2007 on Sunday, April 29.[5][6] Billboard reports that sources suggest this will likely be a one-off.[7]

    Let's hope that this leads to new material from Rage. Especially now with Cornell leaving Audioslave.

    Man this is a bummer... I loved Audioslave, but I have to admit I've stuck by Cornell everywhere he's been, and loved everything he's done. Gotta agree with the majority Chris is a vocal genius if there ever was one. Can't wait to see what he's got, because his latest song for Royal Casino was badass!
