Chicago Bears: I'm back in, baby!

Ok, here goes:

Over the past 20 seasons, this team has broken my heart time & time again:

1. The inability to draft a star QB (the last one this inept franchise had was Sid Luckman, yes, that long ago)

2. The trend to continuously draft scUM players who I freeking HATE rooting for, and most of whom bust anyway: The Gay-Train, David Terrell, Harbaugh, etc.

3. The constant teases that I just can't take anymore.

Years ago I vowed never to make an effort to watch the Bears on Sunday. If they're on TV, I'll certainly check it out, but I'm not doing anything that requires effort or giving up my Sunday for another tease. I was sucked in again last year for a brief spell to watch Krenzel win his first few games as a starter, and now, after relentless hype all week (and with the Bucks season on hold until Jan 2nd), I'm in for the Bears-Bucs game today.

Setting myself up for another tease, and another Bears collapse.

FYI: If you are a betting man, the fact that I'm breaking my vow and watching my first game all season means that the Buccaneers are a lock to win today. I'd take the mortgage to Vegas and put it all on Tampa Bay, if I were you.

You wouldn't even call Jim McMahon a star QB -I mean he DID have those Ray-Ban sunglasses and DID pen his own songs during their Super Bowl year.

Now surely, that is if nothing else star material.:wink2:

We in Chicago are certainly happy with it. Reminds me of 2001 (I believe it was)...they've gotten on a roll, and they could very well stay there. Playoffs, who knows, but the NFC is pretty wide open, and they'd only have to beat one of the powerhouses in the AFC to win it all.
