Now you have a little sliver of what it's like to be a Michigan fan living in Michigan :wink2:

You wouldn't believe the incredibly imaginative shit-talking they can come up with. They have to kind of stretch things a bit. I had one Sparty fan tell me how much better MSU was because of the several upsets they'd pulled in the series throughout the years, and Michigan had no upsets like that. Kind of hard to upset someone that you're always favored to win against, but that would be too logical.

I'm a Buckeye living in Michigan. Michigan fans are way worse, especially since most don't even know what Michigan's campus looks like.

That game was just painful to watch. Why are you having Brian Hoyer throw the ball 36 times? He isn't meant to throw the ball 36 times. He is a game manager. When he throws the ball only 20-25 times a game, he is successful. You don't see Ben Roethsliberger throwing the ball that many times for a reason.

Sparty dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the field. They ran the ball well all day long. Why not just run the ball and win? Hoyer can't get it done with his arm when he throws the ball a lot. He is supposed to just throw the ball a few times and not make mistakes.

Look, when you have 5 minutes left and are down by only 3, you can run the football. Run it for 3, run it for 3, convert a 3rd and 4. It's so simple, coaches in the 50s could do it. It's not that difficult, and with BC's incredibly soft and overrated run defense, they should have been able to do it.

Updated for accuracy. This season in the NFL, however, Toothlessberger has been throwing more than he usually does and is ( :( ) showing a better grasp of the position this year.

That would be too easy.....

By that point BC was sneaking 9 guys in the box and running the ball was going to be next to impossible. Where MSU fucked up was in the 1st half when they had the ball deep in BC territory 2 times and failed to get anything due to turnovers......

Sure, whatever :roll2:

Again: sure, whatever. You'd be surprised how much MSU fans actually act like a little brother, no matter how much they claim they don't want to be treated like one. There's a LOT more respect for Michigan coming from Columbus than from East Lansing.

With over 5 minutes left (it was actually 5:18) they should still have mixed up run and pass - if only to set up the pass plays.
1st play on that drive was a 2 yard rush by Ringer, 2nd play was the pass to Davis which got them out of the hole caused by a poor punt return (Thomas fumble). Short pass completion that Davis turns up field for the needed extra yards.
The next series from their own 22 they go with 3 straight incomplete passes.
They repeat the same poor punt return act after stopping BC on the next drive - this time ending up at their own 4 yard line. BC picks off Hoyer on the very next play and the rest is history.

Absolutely agree with that - and that was clearly the time to feature the run exclusively - until BC showed any pulse on their overhyped run-stuffing D. Sparty could, with judicious run-first play calling, have easily been up by 21 points by the end of the first quarter.

I'd have to side with Scott on this one. I've had CUSTODIANS in "M" gear trying to tell me I got a shitty education I got at OSU. If you're cleaning the fucking hallway in my apartment building---I'd keep the trap shut.

Well, if they're lucky, ass-kickings build character. No Saint-Dic and no Adams means BC lays down at least 30 points, IMO. MSU needed those guys for the win.

Good call. :msu:

Great game for MSU for the most part, Hoyer just undoubtedly cost us the game. The future is bright though...Go Green!
