CFP Semifinal: Washington vs Alabama, Sat 12/31 @ 3p ET, ESPN

I REAAAAALLLYYYY want to believe but...nah man. Nah. Huskies might catch Bammer off guard here or there but I've seen this movie too many times.
It's a win-win. Blast an overrated huskie team that the committee never really liked (and enter the NC overconfident) or get caught napping against a hungry and motivated bunch.

Obviously it would be better if they could face a quality squad like OSU 2014 or a slightly better version of UM 2016, but that's not going to happen.

I'm glad we're playing the first. I can't stand the stress of waiting.

I'm worried Washington will be able to four yard pass Bama to death, then mix in the deep ball a few times. If Washington tries to establish the run, they are screwed.
If Washington can dink and dunk over the middle and get the ball to the outside quickly it will be a game. It needs to be one decision and the ball is out. If they try to hang in the pocket and go through progressions it will be sack after sack. They need to know that every time they try to run into the teeth of the Bama defense it is a wasted down. I think the Washington coaches know this and it will end up as a fun high scoring game.
Bama still either way, just whether it's a game or not.

Yup. Three step drop and throw it to first man or out of bounds. Can't run until you establish the pass.

I don't know that I am sold on this "best defense ever" narrative about Bama. They are obviously very good and have scored an unbelievable amount of defensive TD's but they also haven't played any real good offensive teams.

Ole Miss and Arkansas both racked up big yardage and 30+ points on them. That isn't predictive but you can't ignore that it has been done twice now. Once could just be a weird/fluke game, twice means there is something there if you can execute on it.

Washington is far and away the best P5 offense they will have faced so it could be interesting. OTOH it could get uninteresting quick if UW can't handle the physical battles along both lines and/or the defensive and special team scoring parade starts.

Bama beat a bunch of mediocre SEC teams and a USC team that wasn't very good at the start of the season.
Mississippi State needed a blocked field goal to beat a mediocre MAC team.
Vanderbilt lost badly.
A&M lost . And A& M was one of the "better" SEC teams.
Washington will give them fits.

I'm with you man... then a 6-6 Indiana team took #16 Utah down the wire. Without a doubt I believe Washington will show out.

I don't think they win outright but I believe they will have every opportunity to in the 4th quarter. AGAIN I am not saying bama will win but I too think Washington will keep it close.
