CFP Playoff Cotton Bowl BMW Thread, tOSU vs Texas

We could of had about 5 interceptions but dropped them all.

I'm also still pretty salty about the gunner failing to down that punt inside the 5.

Special teams are such a weakness under Day.

If we don't block a punt, run one back or run a kickoff back in these next two games he's dead to me.

People chalking this is up as a W are all on crack. We’ve seen Day’s team put together two great games in a row, but we’ve also seen them fall flat on their faces the moment they face a bit of adversity. Why are you all assuming he’s REALLY figured it out this time? We thought he had against Clemson and then they got smoked by Bama. I’m not buying a god damn thing about this team yet. We aren’t that far removed from these same coaches and players getting manhandled by TCUN. One month and two wins against overmatched opponents doesn’t erase that.

OSU got fortunate with Sampson for Tenn going out earlier and the lucky against with Stewart + the Oregon RB going out. That’s not predictable or sustainable.

Defense, despite the 8 sacks, was not generating any quick pressure — every sack was a coverage sack. A bigger QB isn’t going to have those passes batted down and a better QB is going to find an open guy sooner. And the D still struggled with getting off the field on 3rd and long. 21 yards on 3rd and 22?!? Come the fuck on! Oh, and nobody on this defense can catch the damn ball.

Tthe OL still couldn’t create any big run lanes for most of the game. Way too many of the runs were for less than 2 yards — the total numbers only look better because of Henderson’s long run.

Howard’s long passes still weren’t good. The pass to EE was a lucky bounce off the defender. The TD to Smith was woefully underthrown and only a TD because the Ducks blew the coverage so badly. The other deep shot to Smith was a terrible decision bailed out by an incredible receiver. Good luck with those against a better defense.

Punting was mediocre and returns were non-existent. Fielding made a couple but so what? He can still choke given the opportunity. We’ve seen it before.

I’ll believe it when I see it. Until then, this is still a Ryan Day coached team and that means shots going to go wrong, their sphincters will tighten, and they will choke on it. It’s who they are. It’s what they do.

I think that’s most of my gripes for now, but I’m sure I’ll find more as I think about it.

What even is this sir. We did it twice and once it was checking up on it own and we knocked it into the damn endzone it was horrific

It may not be sustainable, but when you get Ransomed, there are consequences. Landon Collins still hasn't healed from getting Dale'd.

Sark is the master of that space.
