CFP National Championship BMW Thread, Buckeyes vs Golden Domers, Jan 20, 2025

Not feeling Taco Bell today.

No use watching the game and helping our boys. :sad2:
Pretty sure PF Chang's helped Randy Marsh set a world record poo. Just an FYI.

So I’ve written pretty extensively in all the other BMW threads. May as well keep it up.

My thoughts on what can go wrong since I’m seeing a lot of blowout talk.

There is definitely a scenario where Notre Dame makes this a rock fight. They want to get it to the 4th quarter in a close game where the Buckeyes blink first - and we have seen this team blink, get tight and make mistakes.

This is a very well coached team. The defense reads their keys (guards pulling, motion, etc) and they know how to diagnose tendencies. They stunt on the DLine but play solid in the back. And those DBs are serious - I don’t care if they’re down their best. That was early and the next guy stepped up all year.

Notre Dames defensive goal is putting as much of the outcome on making Howard make decisions that win or lose the game. They bait and make you pay with turnovers and mistakes. That’s concerning.

As always, ready to cheer like hell and not have any of this come true. Hope to not be back. Go Bucks!!

I think PSU just flat out blew the game against them and should be playing in this one. Such missed opportunities and stupidity on their part.

I also went back and watched the NIU game just for kicks… and that loss should have been worse than it looked. NIU punched them in the mouth all night. I know that was early in the season, but everyone wants to keep bringing up TCUN, so hell with it.

Truth is… ND has been gashed on the ground and through the air all season and pulled out wins on fluky shit or mistakes by the opposition.

Yeah, I know which thread this is, but we’re too close to kickoff at this point for me to care. Bucks roll by a lot.

I agree. I see this as a field goal game, and we all know how Ryan Day fares in field goal games.

Notre Dame 24, Ohio State 23

said everyone about OSU in 2002. After a while it's just the way you play.

There is a very good chance this ends up in rock fight territory and then it's massive edge ND. Special teams typically sucks for us and they excel at it.

In the cruelest twist of irony, we get Tresselballed by a Tressel acolyte.

I hear what you’re saying, but for me I see two huge problems with that:

Freeman isn’t Tress and this Domer team isn’t the 2002 Buckeyes.

They might be cheap imitations at best.

If I’m wrong, feel free to lynch me here after the game. I’ve been ready to hang it up this season, anyway. Hanging on by a thread.

This is the BMW thread.

Domers are going to show you that they are for real, turn us over 3+ times and score a special teams TD.

That is all BEFORE the SEC refs start the fuck job.

Yeah, I’ve decided to dial back my doubts and start ruining the thread. Probably the bourbon talking. If it wasn’t for the steady flow of liquid, we lose 42-14 and Ryan Day should run for his life.

However, my last drink is telling me Notre Dame should have been stopped by Big Game James and suffer the wrath of watching an all Big Ten NC from home… but Ped State touches kids and there was too much religion in this year’s playoff run, so they were denied entry.

I’m getting off topic, what were we talking about?

ND: 27
13 legit offensive points
7 points, Howard brain fart
7 points blocked FG returned for TD, a “Franklin-Special”

OSU: 7
3 missed FG
3 fourth down failures inside the 10

Defense, led by Knowles, fights offense in the locker room. Forever known as the Day/Kelly massacre. Knowles becomes our new coach.
