Michigan's cornerbacks obviously will be a little tainted, but still, with Grant Mason and Darnell Hood emerging, they shouldn't be as bad as everyone thinks they are. They have a good, fast corner in Leon Hall and even with Ohio State's speed at receiver, I think Michigan has a chance to shut them down. With Henne and Hart back, even with Braylon gone, Breaston and Avant will fill in nicely. I think that the play of Troy Smith is going to be the x-factor in this game and if he plays like he did last year, Michigan will be forced to play like they did against Texas. I'll give my prediction in the beginning of August on the game.

Just keep on drinking the yellow kool-aid. You got spirit, a sense of humor and a flare for the dramatic.... "I'll give my prediction in.... August."

This reminds me of Tom Lemming's special magic trick where he turns into David Copperfield and pulls a weenie out of his butt and gives ND and NEBBers the top ranked recruiting classes.

My guess is that being a Wolverine fan, you like your Wolverines in this contest. It's just a hunch, though.

You lost two "All American" DBs from the secondary that we torched last year, and you're now going to shut us down? Keep smoking crack. You're right about one thing, though, in saying they won't be as bad as everyone thinks they are...they'll be worse.

Mason and Hood emerging? Neither did anything last year. They would both have trouble cracking the 2-deep on most top 10-caliber teams.

If CFN is right about the eligibility of your team you lose another 3 DB's this year. If Hall goes pro that will be 4 that will see significant PT. Last time I checked Michigan had 14-16 scholarships this year. I have heard from Michigan fans that they want 3-4 DB's. The only DB's I see them getting that are highly ranked is Walls and Brown. They think both are locks but Justin King was supposed to be a lock last year. ND will try to get both and IMO will snag one of them.

Michigans problem is that they have to rely on recruiting out of state. I know they will get offensive talent but they have been striking out with LB'ers and DB's. They need some superstars really fast in that secondary.

The problem Michigan will face this year is Mobile QB's with great WR's. Iowa and OSU have the horses all over to expose that secondary. Tate and Smith will burn Michigan with their feet and arms. After taking off my scarlet and gray glasses I still see a secondary that is in the bottom of the conference. If you think your secondary is strong your in for a big suprise this season.

Wow, what did I expect, I try to be unbiased and of course I get a bunch of arrogant, biased fans. Whenever I look around on other forums, such as the Texas Longhorns, all I see is respect. On this site, all I see is hate and no respect at all. When Texas beat us in the Rose Bowl, they deserved all the credit in the world, and both teams played a great game. They gave us respect for putting up a fight. Some fan from this site tried to get a picture of Braylon dropping a pass in the rose bowl. Wow, the guy catches 11 passes and 3 touchdowns and this guy tries to find a picture of him dropping a pass. This shows how he has no class and why Texas fans, who are classy, bashed him. As a Texas fan said, and I quote "buckeyeplanet is a visually annoying website." Please continue to be biased and arrogant, because thats what Ohio State fans naturally are.

jaed1341, if you came here to read Buckeye fans heap praise on a mediocre Michigan team, then you've come to the wrong place. If you feel our site is so arrogant, biased, disrespectful, and visually annoying, then feel free to take your punk ass out of here. You, being a Michigan fan, have a lot of gall calling fans of another school arrogant and biased.

Saying UM will shut down OSU receivers? That's arrogant. Shut down two bonafide 1st rounders? U most be counting on an amazing pass rush or paying off refs for a ton of holding.

I was being nice because u seem precocious. Easy. U can hope 4 these things but there's no real way to spew it. Try saying it on any "real" board and guage the response. Any.

We are in good condition for Rolle, Hornsby, and Mays, who are all Rivals 5 star players, and Dickerson, a 4 star. There's a very reasonable chance we get one of those guys, too. If we only got two of these six, our DB class would be very good, and if we (very unlikely) got 3, the class would be superb.

Ask Oklahoma if that's a problem. Ask Notre Dame (well, last century) if that's a problem. How about Nebraska or Tennessee? OOS recruiting is simply not an issue for well established schools with weaker football states.

I'll grant that we certainly struck out on DBs last year. Missing all three of Harris, Harris, and King hurt badly. However, we already have a commitment from a five star LB in Graham, so exactly how are we striking out there? We weren't even looking for LBs last year.

There'll certainly be a mismatch there. However, both OSU and Iowa look to be relatively weak at RB, which could mean a strong pass rush or extra DB, especially with our expected switch back to 4-3. Of course, we still have Herrmann, so who the hell knows.

Bottom of the Big 10? Beyond OSU, Iowa, and PSU, which teams' secondaries are obviously better than ours? We're middle of the pack, sure, but not bottom.

Oh please, don't make us wait that long. :( We are all hanging on the edge of our seats to see what you think the score will be.

Please stop hurting our feelings, the reason BP is here is to be a great atmosphere for all college football fans to feel loved and appreciated and have nobody on this site talk bad about their team....wait a minute. I think that may be wrong....yes, it is. This is an Ohio State fan site (the best one) where Buckeye faithful come to talk football (and other things) using intelligence, reasoning, and facts to back up arguments (I put those three words in bold so you can look them up more easily).

If someone tried to get a picture of Braylon dropping a pass, I can't imagine he didn't succeed. Braylon Edwards is an awesome receiver when it comes to dropping clutch passes. My favorite memory of him was all the shit he talked before the SC blowout...."I'm better than Mike Williams, blah blah" and then he goes out and drops a TD that would have tied the score at 7. What a jackass- just like YOU. :)

If you read the whole thread you'd see I gave a compliment to Gabe Watson... read the Texas board and see what they post about OU... yea real unbiased comments... rivals talk smack. Everybody knows both scUM and tOSU have top level talent/coaches/facilities/etc...

I'll bite

OSU
Iowa
PSU
and Purdue all have better secondaries than Michigan.

MSU, Minny, and Wisky all have secondaries in the same league as Michigan. I would call that at the bottom or middle of the pack. There are only 11 teams in the B10 not 20. 5th best is not great considering Michigan isn't even close to the top 4.

Wasn't Prescott Burgess a 5* AA recruit. Boy hes shown me alot since hes been at Michigan. Michigan can take their inflated rankings from their hype recruits and keep'em. I'll take diamonds in the rough like Holms, Hawk and others that are 3* recruits and become forst round draft picks. I wouldn't trade any of our recruiting classes with you guys since Tressel has been here.
Michigan has alot to prove considering we blasted you guys last season and we return about everybody and you lost your best players on Offense and Defense. IMO your gonna be in for a long season.

Mile you don't have to believe anything said on this board. Personally I don't care. I know what I saw last season. I saw a pathetic Michigan defense that has less depth and talent in it's back seven this year. You can be in denial or you can be realistic. The B10 is gonna be alot better this year. I see Michigan losing 4+ games if their defense doesn't make huge strides.

And that puts us in the middle of the pack, exactly like I said. Calling us the bottom of the Big 10 is hyperbole.

I'm not jaed1342. I know our secondary isn't great. It should, however, be passable (no pun intended ).

He's certainly been disappointing, but in fairness, he hasn't had all that much of a chance to show much. He actually played rather well against Texas. He'll have every chance to win a starting job and excel this year.

Inflated rankings like Hart (3*) and Edwards (2*) had?

I'd be stunned if anyone else from OSU or Michigan would want to, either, due to natural school loyalty and pride. Both schools have recruited quite well in that time frame.

Evidently. Why don't you try to defend what you posted instead of ignoring how I ripped it apart and posting the boring old party line straight from Bucknuts.

*Sigh* I've addressed these points many times. If you're actually interested in discussing this point "realistically," consider my posts in this thread as my response:

Hmm, are you brutus2002? Your name, logic, grammar, and blinding hatred of Michigan remind me distinctly of him and the way I immolated him in that thread so badly he deleted his posts.
