Well Basically

I've come to the conclusion that Bucknuts has pretty much turned into crap. So many new posters know absolutely nothing about what they are talking about.

I'd prefer the knowledge posters that like to rib me (Mililani, Clarity, Hubbard, etc...) than those on Bucknuts any day of the week. Plus I'm sure you can put up with me for now. With my work Mon-Fri I don't have nearly enough time to become a common poster over here.

The B10 is a tough league to handicap this year because of all the new QBs. Usually you can give the edge to the team with a tough senior quarterback. Ths year all of the teams with top overall talent feature inexperienced QBs. The senior QBs this year an outside shot are Orton of Purdue and Mills of PSU. Purdue is generally considered to have suffered too many losse on defense. After last year, PSU is not highly rated by many. PSU may be a step behind in the speed department all over the field. The other senior QBs are Lovechio, Buetjer. No shot.

Whichever team, OSU or scUM, does the better job developing and protecting the QB should win the B10 this year. scUM has the best OL on paper but the Game is at the shoe. Should be a great year.

Can't argue with you there. Just don't bring any of the BN drone's over here.

Brett

The problem with your thinking and possibly CFN's is your focus on offense.
I'm still a firm believer in Defense winning championships and The Bucks will have a very good one.
Great WR's and a better offensive line will not bring you a big ten Championship, let alone a NC.

I have little problem with these preseason rankings. I do expect UM's QB to put up gaudier numbers than Zwick, due to the more aggressive offensive scheme and, of course, the talent and experience at receiver they have. I agree with Bretblue (*gasp!*) when he says UM has the best receiving corp in the nation.

However, I think we will win in the Shoe this year, and go to the better bowl game. 9-2 is a very fair assessment of this team, and I doubt UM loses only 1 game this year.

Preseason rankings mean very little, I could care less if they have UM ranked ahead of us.

The Big 10 is WIIIIDE open this year, it would not surprise me at all to see Minnesota, Purdue, Iowa, or even PSU make a run at the championship.

I think our secondary is capable of handling scUM, especially when they have the best LB corp in the country in front of them

Exactly. Scum has the duty of finding a quarterback to throw to those receivers, not to mention an offensive line to block for that quarterback.

There are question marks in front of every big ten team this year.

As always, I'm worried about our punting game this year.

Our punting the last 2 seasons was a big part of our success in addition to our defense.

I hope someone grabs the job and runs!!!

Michigan is not going to be a 10-1 team. No way. Atleast three losses.

I wouldn't be shocked if they lose to ND early in the season.
I have to agree with you on this one. In addition Michigan has a severe Achilles heel that can be summed up in one word...."depth". TSUN has very little depth, especially in key areas such as the D-line.

If I had a quarter for every post I have read about how this is going to be "Big Gabe's" breakout year.... Big DT's like Watson are stout against the run provided they don't have to take too many snaps. Without quality depth, Watson is going to have to take more snaps and get tired sooner.

Also, I am certain that any team that plays Michigan is going to want to keep their offense off the field as much as possible. If you can have some success running the ball, it could be a long day for "Big Gabe".

Add in a few turnovers from an inexperienced backfield (imagine a new RB trying to pick up the blitz, Perry struggled with this up until his Sr. year) and all of a sudden Michigan is looking at a 3-loss season, again.

For the record, I predict losses to ND, Iowa at home, OSU.
