Celtics-Magic Second round series

List of point guards I would take over Rondo:

1. Chris Paul
2. Deron Williams
3. Chauncey Billups
4. Devin Harris
5. Tony Parker
6. Derrick Rose
7. Mo Williams

1. Best on the planet.
2. What has he done?
3. No doubt.
4. Same as #2.
5. Maybe 2 years ago.
6. Mr. Turnover
7. Mo can score, play a little D but not much else.

And the other interesting problem if Rondo is truly elevated to that status: How "great" are Pierce and Allen if they can't steamroll the Bulls and Magic with one of the best point guards in the game???

Because it is a team game.

If Magic was playing for the Knicks, they still would not make the playoffs.

gotta disagree with #5. parker is still as good as Billups and he didn't have Ginobili in the first round to pass off too.

Magic isn't worth 7 games on the Knicks?

I seriously doubt that one.

The bottom half of the East sucks. One Hall of Fame all time great likely gets the Knicks into the playoffs.

1. Yep
2. Won an Olympic Gold Medal, made All-NBA 2nd team and avg. 16 points and 9 assts a game so far for his career.
3. Yep
4. Put up big numbers (pts & assts) on a bad Nets team. One off the best offensive PGs in the game and not to shabby on D either.
5. He's getting older, but I still think he's a better PG than Rondo.
6. Rookie. Upside is HUGE.
7. He's a much, much better shooter than Rondo, can slash and plays D on par with Rondo. The only thing Rondo has on him is rebounding, which isn't an issue with him on the Cavs.

I'd take all of those over Rondo as well depending on my teams makeup. Maybe not Parker long term, but today, I would. Rondo's a good PG, but his shooting is a liability (both jump and free). If Rondo could shoot, he'd be on that list, but he can't, so he isn't.

I'll just use this thread to get this off my chest. Rondo's defense couldn't be more overrated. He constantly gambles and can't/won't keep his man in front of him. He could get away with this last year when he has a frontcourt of KG, Powe, and Perkins to protect the rim. But without those players, you're seeing him constantly getting beat by off the dribble.

He turned 27 today, I'd still consider that pretty young. Parker carried that team on his back while they were hit with injuries, Rondo can't carry a team. I'd honestly put Parker in the top 3 without thinking twice about, I still think people underrate him.

I wonder why that guy in the lower right corner is using Paul Pierce's "Love, Passion, Heart" sign? He must have seen Paul using it against Atlanata and adopted it for his own crew.

He's only 27? Shit, I thought he was like 30/31...

I don't know about about third.

The top three has to be Paul, Williams and Billups IMO.

I'd put Parker as clearly being 4th. After that you have Harris.

Rondo and Mo I'd put on about the same level. Both are asked to do certain things and neither is going to carry a team. Both are very good at what they do.

He came into the NBA when he 18/19 so it seems that way. Hes got a lot of mileage for a 27 year old. By his early 30's, I wonder how effective he'll be.

Anyone that thinks Rajon Rondo is better than Derron Williams is on crack. Rondo can't shoot. I love Rondo as a player, but the league is full of great PG's right now. Rondo and Parker are in a league of their own when it comes to open court quickness, but Rondo certainly isn't a top 5 PG right now b/c of his jumpshot. If he develops it to the point where Tony Parker is right now, watch out......

My list would be:
1. CP3
2. Derron Williams
3. Tony Parker
4. Billups
5. Mo Williams

If I'm in a game 7 I wouldn't think twice about taking him over Paul or Williams. Neither of them have shown me enough in the playoffs and I don't think either can carry a team like Parker has shown.
