All-American
Don't shoot the messenger, but I was sitting by the SJJ student sections and of the 3 or 4 overrated chants in the game, only one of them was for the CCHS team as a whole. The other 3 were for a certain player that they felt didn't play up to his hype.

Chanting

The other 3 were for a certain player that they felt didn't play up to his hype.

Yea, he missed a couple of balls in the rain (Dane S if that's who you are referring to) and he had a bad game. But even a Johnie would recognize that he is an exciting player and a huge play-maker. Lucky for you he didn't have an "average" day. The score would have been more like 14 -13. Football seems to be an orchestrated mix of talent, team play, good coaching and luck. Mostly LUCK. And just as important, it is a team sport and even the great players need the support of those around them. No excuses here, you guys beat us. I still feel the chanting was not appropriate but we're talking about the reaction in an emotional high school game with a playoff berth at stake.

I have a problem with this anyway. I graduated from SFS, my daughter goes to CCHS ('09), and we live down the street from Sean P and Dane S. I've been watching these kids since before HS. When you combine the emotions evoked from those factors, I get a liitle disturbed. I happens every year during High School Football season.

:osu: Dane Sanzenbacher AKA, the Spiderman, the Great Dane, will be an exciting player to watch at OSU. This HS season isn't over yet and there are plenty of exciting plays to watch yet. I'm sure that he will want to be a part of whatever it takes to win out the rest of the season. Let's hope the weather cooperates and everyone stays healthy.

Go Irish.

Quote from JJ Huddle on the SJJ chanting last night

I'm not the only one that thought SJJ embarrassed themselves (at least the handful of smart ass prepies chanting for their team)

I dont think SJJ was the better team, what determined this game was field position and weather. I think these two teams play 10 times CCHS wins 7.

Oh Flex, give it up, your not the city champs CCHS is, two years in a row. Quit your crying. If the rolls were reversed you would be bragging about how you were city champs.

East, the saddest thing SJJ did tonight was when their none athlete student section busted out the "Central Public" cheer. That is when you saw the true SJJ. What an embarrassment to the school, the alums, the administration, and the students. The priest that runs the place should be really proud of what the Jesuit education has taught the kids, kinda tells you what the parents of those kids must think of CCHS. I dont mind the "over" chants, but when they act like SJJ has a better pot to pee in than their fellow catholic school and disrespects the public schools by equating them to a second-class citizen it is just a joke and really sad!

Congrats to the coaching staff and the team, they acted with some class and played hard to take home a victory.

If this game wasn't played in the rain it's all Central.. Dane dropped two easy passes.. one in stride on the way to the endzone and one that, while it was a little high, was still an average difficulty catch.. and it wasn't just Dane.. Dutched missed a couple.. TK's throws were off.. Dominiak missed Calhoun on that wide open punt fake which would have completely swung the MO to Central's side. I think it's safe to say rain completely screws with our gameplan (Rogers).. SeanPat didn't help much either I guess.

As for the cheers.. All of the catholic schools in the city use that against us, and have been for years.. I don't think that is the thing you should be most upset about.. the overrated cheers got to me more. That was the ugliest game of football i've ever seen.. for SJJ to call us (or Dane) overrated for what happened last night is a joke. The only player who did anything for their team was Paterson and half the time he was running into his own tailback so they really have no room to talk about CCHS.

I'm Looking forward to next week..
1. SJJ and all their cocky fans driving all the way to the Cleveland area to get rolled over by Brunswick.
2. Dane and Saine meeting for the first time.

Go Irish. Beat Piqua. Go Blue Devils. Beat SJJ.

Danie and Saine

I agree 100% wrt to chanting and cheering and the fact that SJJ didn't act much like a Catholic school. Let's look forward to next week's game when we meet Piqua. :osu: Dane and Saine will be a great show. The mud may be a factor at Waite though. Saine may have trouble getting started and Dane will just take them long for TDs. Let's see 100 vs 400 m? I think endurance wins.

HAHAHAHAHA. I knew it was only a matter of time before everyone started getting on SJJ's student section. If you were at the game you would've seen me and a bunch of other SJJ fans in the student section at 6:00!!!!!! One hour before the game started and what did we see? Zero Central fans!! When the game started Central's student section was only 1/4 to 1/2 full while ours was packed. If you think our cheers are bad look at ummm..... EVERY OTHER HIGH SCHOOL!!! We were out there and had spirit. I would also like to point out the fact that Paul Jacoby used to go to SJJ but transfered out because he was inegible. I like how Central's students think he is some sort great player.

As for the game the running game for both teams was non existant and i can remember a number of times both QBs ran into their RB trying to hand it off. And i can remember Paul Jacoby fumbling the ball and Dane dropping passes and Bouyer getting slammed in the backfield. Bill Claus (SJJ's Punter) was pinning Central deep in their territory the entire time. Oh yeah... And Sean Patterson running all over Central's D. It was a blown assignment by my favorite player Paul Jaboby that let Patterson run for 30 yds and keep the drive going. SJJ was way to physical for Central and it showed.

As for being overrated. It's about time you met a team that was more physical and had more heart then any other team you guys played this year.

SJJ Cheering Section?

I don't think a bunch of load mouth Johnies high on Monster Energy Drink can compensate for the lack of talent on the field. The over-rated cheers are expected from runner-ups. The "Central-Public" chant has already been addressed with Tim Malone. Ah yes the power of the internet. Good luck Plato - the end of your war is upon you. Location: City of Brunswick.

PS. I was there at 6:00 also trying to stay dry. Maybe CCHS supporters have more commen sense.

Yeah you are right the fans can't compensate for the lack of talent on the field I think Central proved that theory. Ohhh and boo hoo you little girl the "Central-Public" chant has been around forever. There is one chant or saying that offends every school so get over it. I have friends that go to Central and they give me crap for going to an all guys school, it's called busting your balls, get over it. I don't think Central fans have more common sence because if they did they wouldn't have shown up at all.

Central has more points toward first place with the win, St Johns's can't win it even if they win next week. Central picks a lot of points with the Whitmer win. Central Catholic is City Champs. St John's will be a tune up to the playoffs.

How does your foot taste? Oh, and we did make the playoffs, the Division I playoffs. As for SFS just wait untill basketball, then I can watch you eat more of your words.

Keep sending us your "ineligibe" players

I would also like to point out the fact that Paul Jacoby used to go to SJJ but transfered out because he was inegible. I like how Central's students think he is some sort great player.
Paul Jacoby is doing well at CCHS because it's a great school that doesn't leave anyone behind. Regardless of his academic performance at SJJ, he found it at Central and now "we've" got him. League's second leading rusher is now calling home on Cherry St, so if you have anyone else that needs a great High School to transfer to please let us know.

I would also like to add that SJJ must not be teaching English on Airport Highway because there are several spelling and punctuation mistakes in that thing you wrote. I couldn't find inegible in my dictionary. Maybe the English students at CCHS (and SFS) would recognize that quicker.

Go Irish!! Go Dane, Paul, Cedric, Chris, Tyler, Greg, Ray, Donte, Vyshawn, Blake, Ryan and the rest of the CL Champs (sorry if I missed a few) - Beat Piqua and forget SJJ.

Basketball we're talking Football

As for SFS just wait untill basketball, then I can watch you eat more of your words.

Ed Heinschel (SFS '68) was a class mate of mine and I respect him. Maybe that's why you have a great B-ball program. I don't follow Basketball because last year it overlapped with the State Div II Football Playoffs. SJJ was practicing B-Ball. Oh well.

More bantering

I don't think Central fans have more common sence because if they did they wouldn't have shown up at all.

Last one Plato, then I must return to my painting project. Somethings are more important than bantering with a "Greek Philosopher". There goes that spelling again - common sense. I hope you don't have a vocab quiz Monday morning.

Give em hell Daner :osu:

Touche. You got me with the spelling. I'll give you that, I'm not the best speller. I'm not going to say anything about Paul's grades, thats not my place; however, SJJ offers many opportunities for students to bring their grades up such as peer tutoring. If a student is failing a class they are required to go to such tutoring. What SJJ won't to is give their students good grades for free, we have standards. Don't worry we don't need anybody to transfer we already got rid of the trash. How'd the League's second leading rusher help you guys against SJJ?

War of Words

Listen, this isn't going to go anywhere except being cutoff again by the forum police. Good luck with your war of words, Plato.

Socrates mentored Plato much like the way CCHS is mentoring Paul Jacoby. Give it a rest. Your loss is CCHS's gain.

Some Greek history:

Plato was born to an aristocratic family in Athens. His father, Ariston, was believed to have descended from the early kings of Athens.
(This might explain the aire of superiority that some people from SSJ pervade and my reason for making the point)

Socrates believed in the superiority of argument over writing and therefore spent the greater part of his mature life in the marketplace and public places of Athens, engaging in dialogue and argument with anyone who would listen or who would submit to interrogation.
(I guess CCHS is akin Socrates and he has a new student in Jacoby, trash is a pretty harsh word coming from a former cohort).

13 TDs - some pretty good mentoring by Socrates and his new student.jacoby.jpg
