im looking for a credit card for the purpose of tracking some expenses, looking for airline, cashback, etc type cards. any ideas? will put 50-80k a year on this card.

Check out the Costco Amex card. Cash back, I believe 2% on purchases. With that volume, that's a nice chunk...

I have a Citi Cash back card that netted 5% for the first 6 months or a year (I forget which), and now gives me just 1% which I'm not at all happy with, not just because of the 1%, but because I have to deal with Citi. I'm seriously thinking about switching that one to a different cash back card.

On the other hand, I have a Discover airline miles card that I really love. Discover is great to work with (my girlfriend went through a pretty nasty identity theft issue, and they were great about it). One mile per dollar spent, 10,000 = $100 off any kind of travel expense, from flights and hotels down to gas, it's incredibly simple to redeem the miles anytime you want, and they have promotional deals from time to time where every dollar spent = 5 miles. You might be able to do better if you're putting that kind of money on a credit card, but I've been really happy with Discover and the free flights every now and then. The only rub is that not everyone accepts Discover, but you'll have even bigger problems in that regard if you go with an AmEx.

i refuse to use amex. paying a man 50m+ a year is fine, just something i prefer not to support...
